  • Goetia is a mixed bag. There are some wonderful moments in here such as the story, which certainly kept me going, and the visuals and soundtrack which do their best to keep you engrossed, are certainly impressive. It falls short, however, due to some of the overly difficult sections that can lead to many frustrating points in the game, which can then make it grow slightly tiresome. What this boils down to is simply that Goetia doesn’t find the perfect balance needed for a truly great point-and-click game. But there is certainly something there for true fans of the genre.

  • Goetia is a flawed yet engrossing point-and-click-style adventure for those looking for a challenge as well as an interesting story. Aside from the lack of a hint system resulting in the odd infuriatingly obtuse puzzle, it's a bleak, beautiful experience. It’s certainly slow and more text-heavy compared to other titles in the genre on Nintendo Switch, but it’s well-crafted and worth a look.

  • The world and atmosphere of Goetia on Xbox is something to love. It’s a very cerebral, clever, and originally designed point and click adventure. The story and writing are excellent throughout and the puzzles are both interesting and unique.

  • With a mysterious narrative about an unsettling old manor and its inhabitants, Goetia feels like a classic point and click adventure, but it has many quality of life improvements, which makes it worthwhile for any fan of the genre.

  • Goetia takes the point-and-click adventure mould and re-shapes it into something remarkably exciting and fresh.

  • For many people, Goetia is going to get frustrating quickly, and the puzzles can be far too complex to keep you engaged. The ability to leave a particularly hard section in favour of exploring the other rooms is appealing, but by the time you return to an older puzzle you may very well have forgotten your trail of thought for it. There are a significant amount of spelling mistakes and wrong words used in the text which can be jarring, but the amount of work gone in to creating a rich narrative is admirable.
