· Sep 23, 2025 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - There are some times where the chaos becomes a little too much and the enemy spawning rate feels overwhelming, making the game feel a tad unfair. Plus, some of the weapons were, for me, unlocked, used once, and never touched again, usually for being too esoteric rather than useful. However, these quibbles eventually bled into the background as the cacophony of gunfire, guts and gore took over, delivering a blistering action game that stands out visually. Forgive Me Father 2 is an unforgettable assault on the senses that’s a must for horror fans who want bombastic action throughout.

The action is fast and pretty brutal, with a focus on delivering as many headshots as possible while moving constantly to avoid damage. The Asylum and its unlocks allow gamers to try out strategies and find weapons that match their approach. The game’s atmosphere is designed to appeal to players who like Lovecraft vibes, although it does not offer much in the way of straight-up horror. Forgive Me Father 2 improves on an already established formula but needs extra weirdness or one big innovative mechanic.

Ci riesce puntellando l’esperienza disturbante e “lovecraftiana” di Forgive Me Father con una personalizzazione più chiara e intuitiva, amalgamandola a un level design più maturo nonché stimolante e applicando il tutto a un contesto old school dal ritmo più intelligente, con aree dai vertiginosi picchi di mortalità capaci di convivere con fasi esplorative a caccia di item/risorse ed enigmi da risolvere. A condire il risultato, manco a dirlo, la consueta quanto abbondante dose di art direction da sballo, oscurità, sangue e follia, un’arma anch’essa quando l’orrore raggiunge lo zenit.
