- At the end of the day you will probably intend on only playing one or two puzzles a play session, but don’t be surprised if you’re either stuck on one for hours or slowly making your way through one after another. Crashmo is a brilliant puzzle game, full of unique mechanics and a slew of puzzles that will have you coming back for more, as long as you can deal with the demanding difficulty from the start.
Adam Dileva · Jan 27, 2013 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Crashmo improves on Pushmo’s formula in every way, but I have a nebulous complaint: For some reason Crashmo doesn’t inspire that “just one more” desire in me that I expect in puzzle games. The dry and straightforward dismantling of one puzzle after the next leaves me satisfied after finishing about a dozen. When I return after a break it’s always fun again, but I’m not losing any sleep playing it.
Bryan Vore · Dec 06, 2012 Reviewed on 3DS - Crashmo proves once again that the ideal handheld games are puzzlers. The portability of a 3DS enhances Crashmo's segmentary nature, letting you pop in to tackle an individual puzzle whenever you have a few minutes to kill. With its simple mechanics and unforgiving difficulty, Crashmo is the new standard bearer for Nintendo's legacy of excellent handheld puzzle games.
Garrett Martin · Dec 05, 2012 Reviewed on 3DS - Crashmo is a more than fitting follow-up to last year’s breakout eshop hit, Pushmo. The puzzles are clever and addictive, and the new sliding mechanic, new gadgets and updated camera controls do a bang-up job of making this experience feel fresh and distinct. This game is a must download for any 3DS owner, especially fans of the puzzle genre.
Audrey Drake · Nov 30, 2012 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Crashmo’s difficulty and more abstracted play style may turn off some Pushmo veterans who crave more structure in their block puzzles. However, with refined gameplay and a wealth of content, the new game in the young series is still one of the best games on the 3DS eShop.
Neal Ronaghan · Nov 29, 2012 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Crashmo is a fine example of what a talented developer can do with a solid gameplay mechanic. It’s also a great argument for separating business from play. The reason Angry Birds wants you playing the levels again and again — at least on Android — is because it is ad-supported. You struggle to get three-stars and every time you reload a level, they rack up another ad impression. For me, it sucks the fun out of the experience, and you can see the business model seeping through the mechanics in most smartphone games.
Jeff Grubb · Nov 29, 2012 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - The difficulty may escalate faster than you’d prefer, but Crashmo is still an absorbing diversion for your 3DS. Like the best downloadables, it can be played for 10 minutes or two hours, satisfying players no matter how much they choose to invest. If you can push past the annoyances that infrequently pop up, you’ll find that classic style of simple Nintendo fun, only in a more compact form.
Henry Gilbert · Nov 27, 2012 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - In addition, and similar to Pushmo, you have the ability to create your own Crashmo puzzles through a simple-to-use editor. Then, feel free to share them with friends, and download other people's creations via QR codes. Like Pushmo, we expect the community to dream up some stimulating brainteasers. Although it's more difficult than its predecessor, there's plenty to love about Crashmo, from its wealth of puzzles to its cheery graphics and near limitless editing potential. A satisfying follow-up, this game belongs on every 3DS owner's system.
Chris Buffa · Nov 22, 2012 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Mallo's second outing is another massive success; Fallblox constantly surprises, impresses and challenges in equal measures. Even in its difficult moments – and there are plenty – it encourages players to have fun and never significantly punishes errors. Fallblox boasts level design and creativity that many games can only dream of; developer Intelligent Systems' name has never seemed more appropriate.
Mike Mason · Nov 15, 2012 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Fallblox is yet another Intelligent Systems game that seems to truly know its place in the world: it's happy to be a smart little download treat that comes alive for a few minutes every night before bed. Nobody's ever going to buy a Fallblox tie-in novel or watch a mini-series set in the expanded Fallblox universe. Instead, the design team has crafted a playful, ingenious, and admirably economical experience composed of dozens of satisfying moments.
