- Brink is complex, and I've only lightly dusted over the intricacies if its classes and objectives, so do yourself a favor and watch the game's painfully long introductory video before starting. I got the hang of everything pretty quickly, but a bit of pre-battle studying definitely helped, however dull it may have been.
Tyler Wilde · Jun 24, 2012 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Visually, Brink departs from the more realistic styles of most current shooters. Opinions are bound to be mixed on the stylized visuals, but I really like them. The slightly cartoony characters work while the familiar-meets-future aesthetic of the environments sucked me right in. Again, it's not for everyone, but it makes a nice change of pace after SOCOM, Crysis 2 and Homefront. Unfortunately, the textures are really inconsistent, which mars an otherwise enjoyable visual presentation.
Steve Butts · May 17, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - It has been revealed that the DLC will not only fix some lagging issues many users have been experiencing, but also include some new maps, along with some yet to be revealed content. Each of these items can go a long way toward making Brink a more recommendable game, but as it stands, this is a game that disappoints more than it entertains.
Joseph Peterson · May 17, 2011 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Brink for the Xbox 360 is clearly not one of Bethesda’s best offerings. The visuals or sound won’t blow you away and the single player campaign barely holds a candle to other Triple A shooters already on the platform. That being said, the character customizations, fluid character movement, and multiplayer experience are noteworthy achievements for this title. So for those looking for some objective based online cooperative gaming, Brink just may be for you.
Trevor Houston · May 15, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Brink is not a bad game. If Splash Damage can stabilize the performance and fix some glaring omissions (like a pre-game lobby) with a patch, I’d gladly spend more time with it. But with only eight multiplayer maps, 20 progression levels, no clan support, and average gunplay, it’s not a good value proposition. Especially considering many Xbox Live games offer a similar amount of content for a fraction of the price.
Matt Bertz · May 12, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - Brink is not revolution. It might not even be evolution of the kind the FPS needs
Edge Staff · May 12, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - In the end, however, Brink is a worthy buy for anyone who doesn't absolutely hate multiplayer FPS action. It blurs the line between single-player and multiplayer styles, introduces an effective new movement system, and finds ways of discouraging all the obnoxious behavior common in most multiplayer shooters. The campaign is long, and the different classes allow you to play each mission over and over without getting bored. All of this adds up to one huge accomplishment for Splash Damage.
Robert VerBruggen · May 10, 2011 Reviewed on PC, PS3, X360Read full review - Brink is a game that deserves a chance, and those with a penchant for the multiplayer shooter owe it to themselves to give it a look.
Martin Gaston · May 10, 2011 Reviewed on PC, PS3, X360Read full review - A familiar class-based, objective-based multiplayer shooter that is immensely rewarding when played online with others
Tamoor Hussain · May 10, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - Brink lands on its feet with an enjoyable class-based shooter that most anyone with a true taste for teamwork will take to
