- Overall, Ara: History Untold is ambitious. It offers something different from the usual grand strategy formula, blending detailed economic management with traditional 4X elements. The game isn’t easy, and it’s not without its flaws—combat needs more depth, the resource management UI could use an overhaul, and diplomacy feels basic. But if you’re willing to push through the learning curve, there’s a lot to enjoy. For fans of historical simulations and economic management, it’s worth checking out.
Tom Henry · Nov 08, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Kρατάμε πως το Ara δεν «ξαναγράφει» την ιστορία των 4X-strategy, τουλάχιστον όχι όπως θα ήθελαν στη Microsoft και στην Oxide Games.
Κωστας Παπαμητρου · Oct 03, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - As it stands, it’s an ambitious project that doesn’t quite bring its many parts together into a cohesive whole.
Connor Starkman · Oct 03, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - While it does offer some strategy thrills, all of this really holds it back from being another genre kingpin. With DLC and future updates, it may have a chance to iron out its weaker aspects. But, outside a few unique twists, it feels like it is missing something to make it truly worth the price of admission.
Max Borman · Oct 01, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It’s still totally functional as a historical 4X, easily alluring me back into the one-more-turn mindset, but it doesn’t succeed in bringing much that is really new to the table.
Camille Allard · Sep 27, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Ara: History Untold brengt enkele interessante vernieuwingen in het 4X-genre.
Michael Brookhuis · Sep 26, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - While Ara: History Untold is a visually captivating historical 4X with an interesting underlying economy, it gets bogged down well before the midway point.
Reiner Hauser · Sep 24, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Ara: History Untold does a fantastic job at giving players the freedom to shape their Nation how they see fit, whilst keeping everyone in a toothy race. The Nations themselves could be more distinct, but the game mechanics more than make up for that.
