- A Plague Tale: Requiem is a beautiful follow up to Innocence, ramping up every element that made the prequel so captivating. Its gameplay expertly combines puzzles, action and stealth with a story that absorbs you into its mystery and makes sure you feel every emotional beat along the way.
Kirstie Summers · Nov 22, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - A Plague Tale: Requiem is a triumph of a sequel that ticks all the boxes fans will be expecting and then some. Not only does it look and feel great, but it backs up its eye candy and abundant atmosphere with an interesting narrative and a stalwart protagonist who won’t quit.
Jason Faulkner · Oct 31, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - We won’t mince words here: do not buy A Plague Tale: Requiem for the Switch, unless you have no other hardware to buy it on and are absolutely dead-set on playing it. This otherwise excellent narrative-driven stealth action game is torpedoed by cloud tech-related issues that blunt its best moments and offers an experience that is distinctly beneath what this game deserves. Technically, it’s better than not playing the game at all, but not by much. Do yourself a favor by either playing this excellent game elsewhere or by spending your money on something that’s tailor-made for the Switch.
Mitch Vogel · Oct 28, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - With its striking production values and next-gen rat rendering, it's hard escaping the notion that A Plague Tale: Requiem is, like Microsoft Flight Simulator before it, more of a tech demo or portfolio piece for Asobo Studio.
Josh Wise · Oct 28, 2022 Reviewed onRead full review - The game doesn’t innovate nearly enough and performance on next-gen consoles is disappointing, but this game continues to prove that this team of developers is extremely talented. I hope we continue to see them flourish and create new experiences. A Plague Tale: Requiem is a truly exceptional experience that everyone should check out. It is on Game Pass so the barrier to entry is lighter. Definitely give it a shot.
Ken McKown · Oct 26, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Therefore, it should be no surprise that I found A Plague Tale: Requiem to be absolutely brilliant. It expands on and surpasses everything that the original did well. The only difference is the competition is a bit stiffer and it has to settle for my second favorite game of the year.
Nick Shively · Oct 26, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - No game is perfect, but A Plague Tale: Requiem is everything I could have asked for in a sequel. It refines and improves on all of the issues I had with Innocence, creating a game that doesn’t feel all that different, but simply feels far better.
Andrew Thornton · Oct 25, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - A Plague Tale: Requiem, simply said, a well-crafted masterpiece. It improves upon the original in every way and contains all the features one would expect from a sequel. The game's varied mechanisms keep things interesting, and the excellent pace makes you feel like you got the right amount of each element at the right moments. The plot itself is engaging enough to overcome a few gameplay issues, providing a compelling sequel even though it may seem like a rehash of the original in many aspects.
Rayan · Oct 24, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - A Plague Tale: Requiem is likely one of the better games I have played this year. In a time where story-driven action games are starting to become more sparse, Asobo continues to prove with Requiem that it's very much capable of assisting with carrying the torch within this genre.
Logan Moore · Oct 21, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - A Plague Tale: Requiem delivered a much more evolving adventure, coupled with enhancements in almost every aspect that gifted a more exciting and terrifying experience and felt like playing in a movie. Although, the combat system had the game lose a few excellent points, despite its upgrade. Nonetheless, this game is a few levels above its predecessor.
