VOID Interactive had given us a look at their upcoming game Ready or Not way back in 2017, and though we have no release date for the game yet, the studio has announced a partnership with Team17.

Here’s their official reveal:

Ready or Not is a spiritual sequel to SWAT 4 and its predecessors. Unlike most shooter titles which like to focus on action, Ready or Not simulates real-life hostage situations. This will force players to choose between action and non-violent tactics.

Team 17 has had many successful indie titles under their belt. These include co-op games like Overcooked and Moving Out, and the promising Early Access shooter, Hell Let Loose. With Team17’s background, fans suspect that their partnership with Ready or Not will lead to improvements on their most awaited co-op mode.

Chris Coates, head of Team17 studio had this to say about the partnership:

“Void Interactive are a hugely ambitious studio, and Ready or Not is an equally ambitious game. We’re very excited to work on the title, it fits within our broad stable of more mature titles, and we’re looking forward to working with Void as they look to deliver a truly engaging, squad-based tactical shooter.”

Ready or Not is currently headed to PC and previous gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. This team-up with Team17 could mean that the game could also mean improvements for current-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Then again, that’s just speculation.

For more information on Ready or Not, you can check VOID’s official site here.

Zorro is one of the oldest characters in pop-culture and has inspired heroes like the original Batman. While Batman gets to run around in the Arkham games, BTC Studios has also announced their own Zorro game based on Zorro the Chronicles.

Play as Zorro or his sister Ines. Protect the weak and the innocent from the evil general and his army. Bring justice back to nineteenth-century Spanish California.

Become a master swordsman. Disarm your enemies with a whip, a sword, spectacular moves and a sense of humor! Deflect their attacks with acrobatic moves and lightning-quick reflexes. Leave your mark on them with a ‘Z’ from the tip of your sword!

The game is based on the 2015 animated series Zorro the Chronicles, and a lot of animation from the trailer actually comes from the show. The series has been sold to over 100 countries and has even been nominated at the TV France International Export Awards.

While Zorro may have inspired Batman, it looks like this game is taking some influence from the Arkham series. Players will also have to to sneak around or engage in close-quarters combat. The only difference is that Zorro has a very wholesome approach to its genre. So we shouldn’t expect him to break any bones or threaten criminals with excessive violence.

Besides giving us some backstory on the hellscape of Enoch, the game also reveals to us origins of the Outriders; how they got their powers and what they can do. The four classes in the game are Trickster, Technomancer, Devastator, and Pyromancer.

Tricksters are more for ‘hit-and-run’ playstyles and are fast and dangerous up close; Technomancers are for players who prefer long-range fighting (plus use of gadgets and turrets); Devastators are hardy tanks that are also dangerous in close range; and the Pyromancer deals heavy damage mid-range.

Players will also get their own customizable war rig that they can take with them on different missions and quests. You can even cover it in the skulls of your enemies just for that extra ‘wasteland’ flair.

Mortal Online 2 is set to hold its Stress Test Weekend from March 25 17:00 UTC to March 28 23:59 UTC. New and returning players from the previous beta are invited to join the test. All players have to do to gain access is to sign up for the Mortal Online 2 newsletter here. You better hurry as it’s going to be on a first-come, first-served basis.

If anything, it looks like Star Vault is looking to include as many players as they can with the beta. They are aiming for the record of 'the most players online simultaneously in a single, un-instanced server.’

Before the official stress test on March 25, the development team will also hold a Twitch stream on March 20 to discuss the growing lore of Mortal Online 1 & 2. You can log on to that here, and the broadcast starts at 17:00 UTC.

Mortal Online 2 Announces Free Public Stress Test

Dying Light 2 had been announced back in 2018. More than 2 years later, we still have no idea when the game is going to come out. Developer Techland has decided to release a response video. It consists of people from the development team reading some very aggressive comments asking about the release of the much-awaited sequel.

Check out the announcement:

The comment reading goes on for a bit, but the devs end the video with a promise that they are still hard at work on the game. Near the end, they even attached some snippets of gameplay.

“The whole team needs your trust and support as this is what motivates us, especially now when the circumstances are hard for everyone. We are proud of having such devoted fans as you, no matter how you express your feelings.”

It's not exactly the update that we've been waiting years for. But with the tone of the video, the release may be coming very soon. The video ends with a 2021 tag. Whether that means an update or the actual release, we're yet to find out.

For more information, you can go to the Dying Light 2 Discord which has a dl2-questions channel. There you'll find a form that will let fans send questions directly to the development team.
