Nongunz promises ‘unforgiving’ gameplay and has a retro aesthetic that's a lot like classic Metroidvanias. It has hundreds of unique levels filled with enemies and challenges to keep players engaged.

The Doppleganger Edition is a remastered version of Nongunz. It will come free for anyone who already owns the game on Steam. There will also be a 20% launch discount on consoles, as well as a 10% discount on the PC.

Nongunz is an action-platformer that was originally launched for the PC back in 2017. Though there were plans for the game to come to consoles, the project didn't push through under previous publisher Sindiecate.

Though gamers are never going to get a Left 4 Dead 3, Turtle Rock Studios does have a spiritual sequel in the form of Back 4 Blood. The game is set to come out this October, and a new trailer just dropped. Here, they show off the new ‘Card System’ as well as the AI called the Game Director.

The new adaptive AI dubbed as the ‘Game Director’ (GD) is what adds the ‘rogue-lite’ element to the game. The GD takes note of how the players' actions, health, and choices and adjusts matches according to them.

Before a match, the Game Director also plays these Corruption Cards which will showcase the challenges for players. Each player can then select a pre-made deck or make a customized deck, depending on how they want to play. These cards can adjust the game to your advantage, all in the name of challenging the Game Director.

Here’s the official description:

Apsulov: End of Gods is a future Viking horror and sci-fi adventure unlike any other.

The humans delved far beneath the earth to find the mercy of the gods. What they found was never meant to reach the surface. Not on Midgard, nor any of the nine realms of Yggdrasil. Now their discovery wreaks havoc on their world, exploiting their technology, and leaving all in misery and decay.

While Apsulov’s Norse inspiration is clear, the sci-fi horror elements give off that Dead Space vibe. The game had DreamHack’s Best Horror award, and was also the recipient of an Epic Mega Grant.

Besides the digital version, Apsulov will also have a physical copy available via Perp Games. This version will include a downloadable soundtrack as well as an art book on top of the base game. The physical editions will be available sometime around the summer of 2021.

Apsulov: End of Gods is now available for PC. You'll see brand-new gameplay with Rivet, deeper looks at some of the new weapons from the out-of-this-world-arsenal, and glimpses at the variety of worlds, characters and gameplay you'll experience in the full game.

While the world of Ratchet & Clank is filled to the brim with cartoonish characters, you can see that Insomniac Games has done their best with the environment. They've made everything as realistic as possible, making good use of the PS5's power. You can see that the screen is just populated with hundreds of ships and people, and you get to transition from one world to another at the drop of a hat.

Though Insomniac has been getting a lot of attention with their Spider-Man games, it looks like they’re jumping in on this resurgence of classic video game mascots. PlayStation Plus Announces Free Games for May

Developer Balancing Monkey Games is teaming up with Team17 to bring their game Before We Leave to Steam. Here’s the official partnership announcement:

Set in a world that’s recovered from an apocalypse and ready for exploring and recivilising, Before We Leave sees players guide a group of surviving ‘Peeps’ as they chart new discoveries and lands.

Other games like Civilization like to lean in on the war side as culture grows. Before We Leave encourages non-violence. You can explore the world and build different settlements in peace. Take note, while war may not be a concern when it comes to this game, there are other things that can keep your ‘Peeps’ from being happy, such as pollution, food, and resources.

Balancing Monkey isn’t the first developer to team up with Team17 either. Just last March, VOID Interactive had announced their partnership with Team17 for the highly anticipated Ready or Not. Creative Director of Balancing Monkey Sam Barhman said about the team-up:

"It's totally awesome that we're getting to work with Team17 to bring our debut game Before We Leave to even more players on Steam next month. We've been working continuously since we launched it last year, adding a ton of new stuff and extra polish. We're proud of what we've been able to achieve to create a more beautiful and immersive experience for our players."

Before We Leave is now available to wishlist on Steam, and you can also sign up for the newsletter here. There are also several other social media accounts you can follow like Facebook, Twitter, and Discord.
