  • Aside from the sport theme, the table itself is pretty full-featured, with all the elements you’d expect. Pinball fans will enjoy all the ramps and challenge of playing through five games to “win,” and fans of the sport will certainly enjoy seeing their favorite club in pinball form. Don’t see your team available yet? Zen Studios has assured us that they “have interest from other clubs and may add more in the future.”

  • The social aspects are excellent and the gameplay is solid if not physically accurate. If Zen can hone their tables and create unique experiences instead of attempting to beat the best at their own craft, they’ll have something special on their hands. As it stands, the game is a fun romp, but only if you can get past the differences from real pinball psychologically.

If you enjoy pinball in any shape or form, Zen Pinball 2 is a must download. Even casual fans should at least download the hub and try out some of the tables, and since it comes with one free, there really is no reason not to give it a try. Who knows? You may find yourself addicted to it as much as I am. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a friend’s score to beat.

  • Zen Studios were undoubtedly the digital pinball kings last-gen, and are already well on their way to claim the same title on current-gen. PS3/PS Vita players, other platform players, and complete newcomers alike all have no reason to miss Zen Pinball 2 on the PS4. There's no added benefit to this version; just the same game with the same tables we've come to adore, but that doesn't stop it from being a game absolutely everyone should play.

  • The lack of any tutorials or real explanation on the features of each table is frustrating and if you don’t know your ‘tilt’s from your ‘nudges’ the game will be over before it’s barely started. Nevertheless, Zen Pinball 2 is totally addictive if pinball is your thing and if you go searching online for strategy guides or join the Zen community then it opens up a whole new world of addiction.

  • With an excellent back-end, great graphics and sound, tons of options, a large and varied selection of tables, and plenty of multiplayer possibilities, Zen's current generation of games has plenty to offer all kinds of gamers. Thanks to its improved ball physics and reduced loading times, Zen Pinball 2 reigns as the best Zen Studios effort yet, and pinball fans shouldn't hesitate to pick it up.

  • Zen Pinball 2: Portal is a well-done beginner table, perfectly balanced to teach newcomers the nuts and bolts of the genre. Strongly rewarding safe-playing and aiming at specific targets, instead of just randomly shooting the ball, while still not punishing it as hard as other tables might do.

  • Thankfully, Zen Studios are allowing players to transfer the tables they own on PS3 and PS Vita onto this edition without any extra cost. So current players are covered, but what about potential new players? Unless you know you love pinball already, I’d say it’s a bit of a gamble. Zen have also included demos of each table, though, so feel free to try them at your own leisure. Overall, this an experience worth trying at the very least, and buying even if it’s just for the split-screen.

  • Zen Pinball 2 is all you really need if you're after a decent variety of pinball tables to play around with; whether you're at home or on the move, your scores – and those of your friends, provided you have an Internet connection – are always there to be beaten. The tables are intelligently designed and not too costly, there are more than enough settings to fiddle with, and the chance to craft your own collection without being forced to pay for any unwanted tables is very welcome.
