Die Story ist fantastisch, die Musik ist grandios und neben altbewährten Gruppeninhalten von Schlachtzügen und Schlachtfeldern über Arenakämpfe bis zu mythischen Dungeons gibt es mit den Tiefen nun auch endlich eine gute Möglichkeit für kleine Gruppen, Solisten und Gelegenheitsspieler, nennenswert Fortschritte zu machen, stärker zu werden, eine Klasse zu meistern und mächtige Ausrüstung abzustauben. Es ist einfacher als je zuvor, mehrere Charaktere aufzupowern und auszurüsten. Zugegeben: Das sind größtenteils Dinge, die andere Onlinerollenspiele schon seit Jahren in ähnlicher Form bieten, aber wenn euer Herz für Azeroth schlägt, sind die Alternativen womöglich niemals gut genug. Für Ärger sorgen Probleme wie gelöschte Gildenbanken und Balancing-Probleme beim Handwerk, den Charakter- und Heldenklassen und den Tiefen, die überhaupt erst seit kurzer Zeit richtig spielbar sind. Aller Kritik zum Trotz ist genau jetzt ein hervorragender Zeitpunkt, mal (wieder) eine Reise nach Azeroth zu wagen, auch oder gerade dann, wenn ihr nicht mehr so viel Zeit zum Spielen habt wie vor 20 Jahren.

Todas las novedades funcionan a la perfección, y lo más importante, son divertidas. La historia es madura, interesante, y el núcleo de misiones secundarias que la rodean están a la altura. Hay variedad en todos los ámbitos, suficiente como para no cansarnos de esta nueva expansión rápido, lo que se agradece muchísimo. Las profundidades y las mazmorras con NPCs son dos grandes aciertos.

On sent les intentions du studio californien, on en ressent les premiers effets en jeu, mais côté narration, on reste clairement sur notre faim. Le jeu se détache peu à peu du pur jeu multijoueur pour s’adonner de plus en plus à du contenu jouable en solo, ce qui plaît à ceux qui préfèrent jouer en dilettante ou dans leur coin, sans pression sans délaisser les hardcore gamers. Globalement, on est plus dans une évolution logique que dans une révolution, tout en conservant la patte WoW pour tout ce qu'elle englobe en bien comme en moins bien. On attend maintenant impatiemment la suite pour voir si cette grosse introduction en valait la peine ou non.

The storytelling feels well done and has been paying off on moments that have been building for years. The dungeon and raiding scene is off and running and fun so far. Lastly, delves have a solid foundation that needs to be tweaked to make them the jewel they can be. I had thought it would be an impossible task to surpass Dragonflight, but The War Within may end up doing that.

L'MMORPG Activision Blizzard vive in un mondo tutto suo, con giocatori affezionati che lo vedono come una seconda casa e apprezzano le innovazioni puntuali, l'aumento della qualità della vita e certe semplificazioni di meccaniche vetuste, ma senza esagerare. L'estetica semplice e colorata non si tocca, così come i capisaldi, le missioni, e tanti altri elementi di gameplay che ormai distinguono il titolo tra i concorrenti. The War Within non vuole sradicare questi elementi: certe volte li evolve, come per il Volo Dinamico e la conseguente stratificazione delle mappe in verticale. O come per i Delve, dungeon minori adatti a sessioni mordi e fuggi e perfetti per livellare in tranquillità. Altre volte invece li asseconda anche se li modifica, come per i Talenti Eroici che approfondiscono le build senza cambiarle del tutto. Aspettando le prossime espansioni della Worldsoul Saga, insomma, il futuro di World of Warcraft ci sembra sempre più luminoso e invitante, anche se si dipanerà nelle profondità sotterranee di Azeroth.

Hero Talents add some interesting effects and skills to specific classes, which adds a greater variety of how you can play your character, and the narrative, while straightforward, is a lot of fun. The War Within has made me love MMORPGs again, and if Blizzard Entertainment keeps going in this direction, I can see myself playing this game for years to come.

If you used to be a player and enjoyed the first expansions, I recommend giving this latest addition a try. After years of lackluster content, I’m overjoyed that what was once one of my favorite games has been returned to a state where playing is fun again.
