- It may be multiplayer only, it may not have bots, and it may have a steep learning curve, but Warhawk lives up to its billing: a AAA experience that is an adrenaline rush for online fans. Large worlds, balanced combat mechanics and impressively deep server mechanics help this fast paced game soar.
Jeff Haynes · Dec 31, 2007 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Some will bemoan Warhawk's slender level count of just five and others may feel it is a little basic, but that is just where it succeeds. It is a next-generation title at a last-generation price that boils gaming down to its purist form. Warhawk is a cheerily violent and fantastically developed version of playing with a dusty box of army-themed toys, and it is enormous fun.
Will Freeman · Oct 15, 2007 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Simply put, Warhawk is what gaming dreams are made of and the reason you will want a PlayStation 3. Yes, its complex controls require a lot of patience but once you get the hang of it you will be completely hooked by the intense action that makes these online battles such an addictive joy. This is one of the PS3’s finest titles that really shouldn’t be missed.
jkdmedia · Sep 06, 2007 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - In levels with a lot of solid ground to fight over, it's often best to use the planes for short hops from one place to another - if you fly around for too long, you're liable to attract the attention of a missile turret, tank or dude with a rocket launcher, and then it'll all be over as soon as they draw a bead on you. With lots of missile-dodging practice, though, flying will be worth your while - just expect a long learning curve before that happens.
Mikel Reparaz · Sep 05, 2007 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - The fluidity’s cup run-eth over, with a solid frame rate that never dips, not even in 16-on-16 bouts, with Warhawks canopying the sky with missiles and machine gun fire. While not cel-shaded, the game has a very distinct look that brushes up against cartoony, and goes well with the type of carnage the game unleashes. Explosions are sweet, while rag doll deaths are actually muted for a change and fun to watch. The maps, while all on the same side of the terrain tree, are still distinct enough to invoke immediate responses and favorites.
Game Trailers · Sep 02, 2007 Reviewed on PS3 - Regardless of how you get it, Warhawk is a great multiplayer shooter and one of the first of its kind to land on the still-new PlayStation 3. It offers just enough content to justify its price tag, but more importantly, it plays well, with just the right mix of tactical considerations and finger-on-the-trigger action. With hooks in there for additional map downloads, it'll be interesting to see how this one develops from here.
Jeff Gerstmann · Aug 29, 2007 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - It seems a little odd to not have any single player options (outside of learning maps and practicing on a LAN game), but for those gamers that spend the majority of their time playing against others online, Warhawk is a good investment either way.
D'Marcus Beatty · Aug 28, 2007 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Incognito has taken the DNA of Battlefield and crafted a sublime online console game - a virtual battlezone that serves up more than its fair share of wonderful audio-visuals, but more than that, plays beautifully, with every game you play supplying a key gameplay moment that only online gaming provides.
