Critic Reviews
- In its current state, Warframe is an impressive port of an excellent game. While I was hoping it was better in some aspects, Warframe is worth trying out on iOS for sure. It remains one of the best examples of free to play done right, and the complete game with no major compromises is now playable on iOS with cross play and cross save support. I can’t wait to see how Digital Extremes enhances the mobile version through the year leading into the Android version.
Mikhail Madnani · Mar 06, 2024 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Warframe is a gorgeous third-person multiplayer looter-shooter with surprisingly smooth gameplay considering the expansive scope of the game.
Wood Bowl · Feb 27, 2024 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Warframe has now successfully launched on two PlayStation consoles in a row, and both times as a launch title. Once again, this is the place to play if you don’t have a PC that can play the game at high settings. The PS5 is also the only place to play where haptic feedback plays into how the game feels.
Paulmichael Contreras · Mar 08, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The game still has issues with repetition and lack of explanations for its more complex systems, but it's managed to overcome their severity by introducing so many events and revisions that continue to elevate it.
Alessandro Fillari · Feb 01, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Fortnite won’t be the only free-to-play game hogging your time on the Nintendo Switch. Panic Button’s port of Warframe sings, despite the obvious technical limitations that Nintendo consoles typically suffer from. If you’re hungry for a space-marine stealth shooter that you can play with pals, Warframe is your best (and perhaps only) bet on the Nintendo eShop.
Jaime Carrillo · Dec 28, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Warframe is definitely one of the best free to play games available right now, and a fantastic shooter in its own right. It's fun and frantic, with loads of content to sink your teeth into for hours. Whether by yourself, with friends or with random people found through matchmaking, this is a great game, well worth your time. And it's now available on the go, too.
Dave Aubrey · Nov 30, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - While Digital Extremes hasn’t quite perfected the formula it needs to make Warframe completely accessible - the sheer number of interconnected systems and customisable elements suggests it never quite will - it still offers a co-operative third-person shooter with all the MMORPG elements you never thought you’d see running on Nintendo Switch.
Dom Reseigh-Lincoln · Nov 23, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Warframe isn’t an easily approachable game, but it’s one that’s worth getting comfortable with. It’s a game that never stops growing from a developer who is passionate about working with its community. It also just feels amazing to play, with a satisfying kill-collect-craft loop that’s supported by a mountain of player choice and some wonderfully responsive movement mechanics.
Tom Marks · Nov 14, 2018 Reviewed onRead full review - I love that Warframe continues to grow and evolve into something ever greater than it was with its humble beginning. Eidolon brought the game one step closer to the MMO-vision known as Dark Sector, and I hope we go even closer to that in the years ahead. The quick and breathless levels are fantastic, but Digital Extremes has crafted an excellent universe to explore on a grander scale. Something tells me they’re just getting started.
Pete Schwab · Jun 27, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Though it might not be truly massively multiplayer, Warframe has a lot of what I find endearing about MMOs. It's a sprawling world with stories to tell, people to meet, and loot to farm. It is daunting to learn, sure, but so was World of Warcraft the first time I logged in. And, honestly, it's exciting to feel lost again.
