  Even though Visions of Mana does have a few dated gameplay design choices embedded into its core, it’s still an enjoyable traditional JRPG experience. We grew attached to the lovable cast of characters, and exploring the world proved to be a charming endeavor. This next-gen entry in the series clearly aims at a broad audience, ranging from franchise veterans to newcomers. While our experience was mostly positive, we do suggest waiting for a sale, as the RRP feels a tad on the higher side.

  When you peel back Visions of Mana there are lots of great ideas and mechanics that succeed in bringing a beloved series bang up to date. There is so much to talk about, but it’s best to dive in and experience it for yourself. It’s a beautiful Japanese RPG which manages to be charming, engaging but avoids becoming too complicated and distracting from the heartfelt tale being told at the centre of it all.

  From the stunning, emotion-filled prologue to when the credits roll, Visions of Mana is a spectacular journey that is more than just a visual delight. Understanding the magic system and switching mana elements once obtained is not hard for newcomers to the series to understand. The captivating story is elevated with the memorable soundtrack, and all the characters were likeable. It has its flaws, especially post-game, but overall it is a great introduction to the legendary series and without doubt will lead newer fans to explore older titles, and hope for a new one in the future.

  Realmente, que Visions of Mana exista es que hay hueco para este tipo de propuestas, pero lo más importante es que estamos ante el regreso de una saga mítica con una entrega que respeta a la obra original a la vez que actualiza su mundo a los tiempos modernos. No importa que su historia pase a un segundo plano y no importa que no tenga el mejor de los aspectos técnicos, la realidad es que su diseño artístico es insuperable, la banda sonora es magistral y su jugabilidad es más que digna.

  Εν κατακλείδι, το Visions of Mana αποτελεί μια αξιόλογη πρόταση για εκείνους που αναπολούν αυτή τη θρυλική σειρά, αφού μέσα από τη νέα πρόταση της Square Enix έχουμε ένα ιδανικό πάντρεμα του παλιού με το νέο, δηλαδή κλασικά και αγαπημένα στοιχεία της σειράς, που όμως καταφέρνουν να εκσυγχρονιστούν ιδανικά.

  Visions of Mana on PlayStation 5 is a remarkable and heartfelt revival of the Seiken Densetsu series. It might not have the appeal of some of Square Enix’s mainline franchises, but it’s filled with tons of heart and love from an old school JRPG perspective. Ouka Studios has created a magical and memorable adventure that breathes new life into a beloved franchise that shouldn’t be forgotten.

  I’m always almost in love with Mana games. There’s just some minor thing that won’t click into place. Visions of Mana is no exception. I’m hooked by the story and the characters are gorgeous. I have a lot of fun exploring this world and meeting all these fascinating people. But the combat still feels a little stiff and sluggish. Battle customization is a mile wide and an inch deep. The plot dragged me by the collar, and the boss fights were a pleasant highlight. I wish the regular combat had some similar hooks to deploy, however. If you’ve been waiting for the next great Mana game, I honestly don’t know if this is the one. But Visions is pretty great for a Mana game.

  Visions of Mana to zupełnie nowa odsłona długoletniej serii jRPG-ów akcji gdzie ludzie żyją w harmonii z antropomorfami i personifikacjami żywiołów. Stara szkoła pełną gębą ale we współczesnych szatach. Całkiem udany powrót do korzeni, co jednak nie dla wszystkich będzie dobrą wiadomością.

  The bottom line here is that Visions of Mana does a brilliant job of rebooting the classic series for the modern age. Just enough nostalgia, innovating on previous systems with real-time battle mechanics to appeal to those who find turn-based systems a tad too dull. With a story full of sacrifice and duty, it provides an interesting backdrop to the action. While the pacing is a tad off at times, along with the voice acting being a little contentious, this game shines in its combat, customization, and presentation. Visions of Mana is a great point of entry for newcomers as well as a refreshing trip down memory lane for those familiar with the classic releases.
