- While seven-on-seven sounds rather vulgar thanks to the aforementioned Sexy Time, it’s actually a shining example of the potential that this franchise has. If you can overlook the eroticisms, tune out the monotonous story, and focus purely on the relatively enjoyable button-mashing combat, then you’re gold. But if you're like the rest of us who can’t, Valhalla Knights 3 is probably best left for a really, really rainy day.
Ben Tarrant · Nov 24, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Valhalla Knights 3 does a satisfactory job of meeting the essentials of the genre, and even includes player vs. player online combat; but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter when the rest of the game is a mess.
Brian Sharon · Nov 11, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Valhalla Knights 3 is a far cry from being any sort of enjoyable. The setting and class system, while great in theory, are attached to a game that is ugly, grind-heavy, laughably animated, and just plain unpleasant on numerous levels. When you've got a game that lacks an option to alter its obnoxiously slow text speed in favor of numerous options to change some characters' panty patterns, that's a good sign that its priorities aren't in the right place.
Heidi Kemps · Nov 08, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Valhalla Knights 3 is a disappointment. It has fun moments, but actually enjoying it means wading through a bog of repetition that left me feeling tired and dirty when I reached the other side. There is some joy to be found in its deep character customization and competent combat, but both are wasted on an experience that skims the shores of greatness but never quite lands on the beach.
Stew Shearer · Oct 30, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Valhalla Knights 3 is an impressive concept, but poor execution, lame grinding, and exploitative "Sexy Time" events are a fan disservice.
Matt Fernandez · Oct 27, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - A deep and addictive character customization system makes Valhalla Knights 3 a title that may intrigue genre diehards, but it quickly burns through most of the goodwill that it earned by teasing a unique environment and premise. Nearly everything the game does well is sandwiched between horrific load times, tedious fetch quests, and a misogynistic mini-game. Sure, you can create a party of truly awesome characters--but it's hardly worth the grind.
Jason Venter · Oct 21, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - The game’s poor direction (I ran around much of the first 8-10 hours with a limited party and a character sporting nothing more than a loin cloth with gauntlets) makes it a hard pill to swallow for those who are looking for an accessible role-playing game on the go. For fans of the series or hardcore lovers of the genre though, while still rough around the edges, Valhalla Knights 3 does offer the occasional moment of bliss.
Wesley Ruscher · Oct 17, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - At its best Valhalla Knights 3 has promise. But that promise is hidden beneath so much grime it’s just not worth the effort. Move along, there’s nothing to see here.
Ryan · Oct 15, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Both the visuals and audio are dated, making this PS Vita exclusive feel like it was ported from the PSP. Animations are stiff, and character models have rough edges. The music score and architecture are a mélange of different Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras, though the neon banners and lace lingerie scream of modern influences. Overall, the look and feel of the game is a jumble, and not a pretty one at that.
Sean Engemann · Oct 15, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - You're always making progress no matter how short your spurts of play are. Unfortunately, this good idea is muddied by poor presentation and mediocre mechanics. It would be cool to see my prisoner eventually grow up to be an unstoppable force of slaughter, but the game wasn’t compelling enough to keep me playing that long.
