- TUNIC is a dainty mix of nostalgia and current trends. There is really not much you can dislike in this game. Maybe the story- But then again, the story is not the selling point. TUNIC stands out with its gameplay alone.
Yagmur · Oct 10, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Tunic is intuitive gameplay at its finest, requiring you to figure things out as you go. You’ll either sink, or you’ll swim, and though I sank far more often than I swam, I still couldn’t get enough of this game.
Daymon Trapold · Oct 09, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - What makes Tunic unique is the way it gives the player items and abilities, without fully explaining them at first, and allowing the player to experiment while exploring its world.
Stephan Adamus · Oct 06, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It's a cohesive, satisfying game that scratches an old school action-adventure itch, going above and beyond with subversive, cerebral puzzles. It maybe goes on a touch longer than it needs to, but this little gem of a game punches above its weight.
Stephen Tailby · Oct 02, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Tunic on PS5 is fantastic. Charming level design, creative puzzles, surprising challenges, along with a lush world to explore and decipher all merge to create one of the best adventure games in recent memory.
Richard Allen · Oct 01, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Tunic requires a lot of intuitive thinking and patience to navigate its beautiful world with its brilliant in-game instruction manual. Coupled with an unforgiving combat system that punishes impatience and rewards measured study of opponents, Tunic is a game designed for those versed in old-school adventuring and experienced in difficult, sometimes frustrating swordplay.
Lowell Bell · Sep 27, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Tunic shows that its creators understand what made these games so special but doesn’t feel like a retread of other games. It has its own identity and makes use of so many clever techniques to engross the player into its world that there’s simply nothing quite like it.
Willem Hilhorst · Sep 27, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It's not simply evocative of games from the late '80s and early '90s because it creates facsimiles of their graphics or gameplay, but because it manages to capture a tangible feeling of exploration and difficulty, where an instruction manual is your tool to deciphering everything. It's the kind of game you would've purchased because the box art looked cool, eagerly flipping through the pages of its manual on the car ride home, not quite understanding it all but getting excited at the possibilities all the same. In Tunic's case, this grand adventure lives up to the expectations.
Richard Wakeling · Jun 29, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Tunic is an isometric action game where players take on the role of a small fox on a big adventure in an unforgiving world. It might look cute, but it is far from soft, presenting a unique, cleverly mixed fusion of Souls-like combat and Zelda-like exploration and puzzles.
Taoshi · Apr 08, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Delightfully difficult combat and meaningful exploration make Tunic a retro-inspired modern marvel.
