  • We liked Trials HD, and after playing Trials Evolution, we can heartily recommend it to fans of the original. And for those who’ve never tried Trials before, this is an excellent starting point. Evolution is a wonderful game that’s rich with personality (including a surprising sense of humor) and sophisticated gameplay. Despite its deceptively simple premise, this is a game in which we plan to invest countless hours. Trials Evolution deserves a spot on every Xbox 360 owner's hard drive.

Trials Evolution remains the best Trials experience available today and one of the best values on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The social competition between friends will continue to rage on long after you’ve made your way through all the tracks and keep you coming back to reclaim the top spot.

  • Though on a core level Trials Evolution is very similar to its predecessor, it does everything bigger and better. The triumph of conquering a tough track, the thrill of tallying a speedy time, and the creative adventure of making your own track and playing the crazy creations of others all conspire to make this one super sequel.

  • With a near perfect gameplay mechanics that are simple enough to pick up and play but difficult to master, Trials Evolution is easily an early candidate for XBL Arcade Game of the Year at this juncture. Adding multiplayer, a track editor, and content sharing to a winning formula might just make this the best 1200 MS points you will spend on an XBL Arcade game this year. Go ahead, download this game now as there is nothing left for me to say.

  • Fans of the original Trials will love the steps the series has taken to move forward while being more open for newcomers to jump right in and have fun with it. It can be a bit frustrating at times though, as the game almost has an old-school platformer feel to it being easy to learn, but very difficult to master.

  • The most important aspect of Trials Evolution is its lasting power. I could play this over and over for a long time without succumbing to boredom. It’s all so well-polished and with its continuous updates of playable content, there’s no reason not to keep playing. 3D graphics played on a 2D surface add a touch of smoothness that Michael Jackson would be proud of.

  • In short, every addition RedLynx has made to Evolution serves to bolster the offerings of Trials HD, while continuing to highlight the game's base: a fantastic physics engine that drives a flow that is simultaneously simple, addictive and frantic. Now if you'll excuse me, I have another nine years of mastering Trials Evolution ahead of me.

  • With dozens upon dozens of tracks to complete by yourself or with friends both on the couch and online, skill games to break up the traditional track racing and obstacle coursing, and an insanely in-depth, user friendly track creator that should extend the life of the game and the Trials community immensely, the game is a rock solid purchase for the price.

  • Trials Evolution feels fresh and makes its predecessor look dated while simultaneously keeping the core gameplay the same. This type of skill-heavy experience will infuriate some people who struggle to pick up on its subtleties, but the end result of clearing a particularly challenging track is remarkably satisfying. Multiplayer is a fine addition, as is the new focus on providing genuinely creative, diverse level designs.

  • Perhaps Trials Evolution's best trick, though, is that it doesn't render the original game obsolete. Despite a sweeping range of improvements across the board, the core rhythms are just as entertaining in Trials HD as they are here. But it's in the way that Trials Evolution is explained and developed over its hefty course that pushes RedLynx's latest and greatest far above its much-loved ancestry.
