  • Transistor is truly a treasure of game and if you haven’t played it before, then do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s available on most platforms and handles very well. The gameplay is highly addictive especially as you unlock more moves. There’s also a Recursion Mode that allows you to play again from the start, but at your current level and all of the moves you’ve gained in the previous playthrough. The enemies will also retain their levels, making the game tougher and vastly different each time you play it. The high replayability factor also makes this game worth your time. In fact, I think it might be time for a third playthrough…

  • While there doesn't seem to be anything new to draw players in, Transistor has always had a goal of replayability to begin with. Owning it on a Switch lets you play it both at home and on the go, rather than needing two versions of the game to do so. Performance was great on both, and I spent a large amount of time playing through without even realizing it.

  • It's another welcome addition to the Switch library, and is the epitome of a modern RPG classic, with its fusion of cyberpunk elements, unconventional storytelling, and dynamic gameplay make for a game that you won’t want to miss out on. We’d give Transistor a high recommendation to anybody looking for another great RPG for their Switch, or for someone who just wants to hear a good story.

  • The music matches as if painted by the same hand, capturing the possibilities of progress and the despair of destruction. The world is a paradise crumbling before your eyes. But it’s so damn short. Red’s epic lasts just a few hours. New Game + promises to carry over my progress and beef up the Process accordingly, and the Sandbox still hides challenges, so there’s replayability here. Still, I want more time with Red and her endearing sword. Transistor is too good to end so soon.

  • Transisitor is an exquisitely crafted grand scale adventure that is an absolutely must have experience on iOS.

  • You can enjoy the game simply for its battle system, or you can play it to experience its fantastic story. Either way, despite its many slowdowns and the lack of enemy variety, Transistor is a gem that should be part of most iOS gamers' collections.

  • Transistor is a great way to spend twenty dollars if you’re a fan of action RPGs, strategy games, or just anything Indy. It is a wonderful single-player experience, and I highly recommend escaping for a day into the colourful city of Cloudbank. While it has the capabilities, it probably won’t appeal to those looking for twitch-action or puzzles. Still it deserves a chance to steal your heart, just as it stole mine. The only thing missing is more content.

  • Expression is a major theme running throughout Transistor. When it leans into that philosophy in the design and story, it’s some of the most exciting time I’ve spent with a game of this scope. Everything that is there glows with presentation and forethought. It’s only when restriction – restriction from information and restriction from movement – becomes the focus that I feel I’m missing something even better.

Yet Transistor’s greatest asset is confidence. This is a remarkably assured game for such a young studio, the work of a small team that knows exactly what it wants to do and executes it almost without error. Its art style is divine, its soundtrack is remarkable, its combat is intricate, and the story of its odd-couple protagonists is both smartly written and deftly told.

  • Transistor leaves you wanting more in the way that good games do. Its story is thought provoking, its world stylish. The gameplay systems are smart and fun to use. Transistor is more content in leaving you with questions rather than tying things up in a neat little bow. While the combat system itself is the real star of the show, Red’s journey through Cloudbank is definitely one worth taking.
