- All in all, Rainbow Six: Extraction is as entertaining as any hardcore tactical shooter. While it’s unfortunate that it neglects its narrative elements and its game design can be tedious, its core gameplay is extremely fun and rewarding especially playing with a dedicated team.
Abdul Saad · Feb 23, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Rainbow Six Extraction is a bold game for the Tom Clancy brand that jumps head-first into an over-the-top, absurd mix of horror, sci-fi, and military realism. It does at times feel more like a Siege DLC than a stand-alone game, but it’s a solid option for players not interested or intimidated by Siege's intense PvP community. There are several interesting design decisions meant to encourage teamwork and decision making in each missions, though I’m not sure if there will be enough variety without PvP to keep players hooked long-term.
Quinn Levandoski · Feb 07, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Rainbow Six Extraction is so much better than it had every right to be. There’s some solid cooperative action to be had in here, but while I did have a blast with its modes, I don’t think the game has knocked it out the park… yet. There just needs to be a lot more of it, be it in terms of maps and readily available modes.
Kyle Nicol · Feb 05, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction is a spin-off and feels like one, but not in the good sense. The game feels rushed, and not enough fleshed out to become its own thing.
Vednor · Feb 03, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I enjoyed playing Extinction, even with the randoms who were just trying to be agents of Chaos. But I don’t think I would spend a lot of time with it, these days with so many great games as choices it has become harder and harder to want to comment to one that requires a large amount of grinding. And that is what Extraction would require, as players need to level up to unlock gear, weapons and even levels. Unless it’s telling me an epic story like God of War, Persona or Halo Infinite anymore I just wanna get in, have some fun and get out. Which you can do with Extraction, again with the right group of friends.
Terrence Johnson · Feb 02, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Rainbow Six: Extraction would have been a great addition to Rainbow Six Siege, but as a standalone game this just feels like a missed opportunity. The game doesn’t feel finished, and with its wide range of bugs and unbalanced gameplay it can be a rather frustrating experience. For us, it felt like the focus was invested into offering loads of skins, rather than polishing the gameplay, and updating the very dated graphics.
MC_JP · Jan 31, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Overall, if you’re after a new co-op shooter to play with friends, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction isn’t a bad way to go. Sure it’s difficulty will be enough to turn some away, but should you stick with it, formulate a plan and not mind the frequent MIA operator in need of a saviour, what you’ll find is a competent multiplayer shooter that brings fantastic visuals and challenging gameplay to an already beloved franchise and with plenty of returning characters that players will know from before, this doesn’t feel like yet another game that you’ll need to learn from scratch.
Carlos Santuana · Jan 29, 2022 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Intense, engaging, and deeply entertaining; Rainbow Six Extraction delivers even if it does differ from what fans have come to expect.
gareth · Jan 26, 2022 Reviewed onRead full review - Rainbow Six Extraction is a solid team-based shooter, with creepy enemies and strong gameplay. The game's Operators are enjoyable to use, even if they don't quite stand out from one another, and the online multiplayer is a lot of fun when you can partner up with a good team. If you're looking for a solo shooter that will keep your attention, you might want to steer clear of this one. For everyone else, Rainbow Six Extraction is a fairly enjoyable experience.
MARC DESCHAMPS · Jan 25, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - I’m not usually a fan of stealth, but sneaking around the game’s excellently-designed environments trying to get the upper hand on a bunch of freaky-as-hell aliens is exhilarating. You’re constantly on-edge, not knowing what waits around the next corner, poised to attack if you need to. Add to that a solid progression system that keeps you wanting to jump back in, and you’ve got one of Ubisoft’s best multiplayer experiences yet.
