- The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
رضا خلف چعباوی · Jun 11, 2024 Reviewed on - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a fantastic homage to the original film and really shines in its general presentation, but the gaming experience itself proves to be a frustrating one. Combine an increasingly toxic community and the prevalence of cheaters with a distinct lack of maps and variety and you have a game that may well struggle to succeed in competition with the many other titles in the asymmetrical horror genre.
Steve C · Sep 25, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - For those migrating away from Friday the 13th: The Game, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre could prove to be a welcome alternative. While this new multiplayer horror game certainly shows promise, my earliest hours with the family have been hindered by needless friction. It's occasionally thrilling, but often frustrating.
Jordan Gerblick · Sep 18, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - This game is great for anybody who enjoys multiplayer asymmetrical horror titles since it blends familiar gameplay with new elements. However, it’s also an ode to the franchise that shows great love for the source material. For that reason alone, some fans will probably be able to overlook some technical flaws and the lack of more maps.
Jessica · Sep 12, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Even though the game is fun in its own way, at launch there just isn’t enough about The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to make it anything but mid. Hopefully given time, it will get new content but all we can do is wait and see.
Devin Shea · Sep 06, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - I found the game works best for me in smaller doses such as two to three rounds at a time as it was not the type of game where I could play for hours at a time. That being said the detail and nostalgia level alone makes the game a must for fans and the creepy fun is a must for horror fans.

While its darker tone and more sophisticated mechanics, compared to some of its competitors, may alienate some more casual players, diehard horror enthusiasts will find much to enjoy here.
Dan Lenois · Sep 01, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Playing as any of the victims is a tough gig as you desperately try to flea from the savagery of the Sawyer Family. When you decide to play as the flesh butchering psychopaths, tracking down the escapees is gratifying, especially when you get to wield a chainsaw as Leatherface. Unfortunately, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre loses its appeal gradually when you find yourself performing the same actions over and over again, where every match plays out in the same way, refusing to change things up to keep the drama ticking along. The lack of time limits can make matches drag on laboriously too, so it’s easy for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to wear out its welcome. Ultimately it’s a cool PVP game, but it doesn’t have the fresh ideas to contend with its contemporaries.
James Davie · Sep 01, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a ton of fun, and though it has some issues it has been pretty addicting to play. This is one of those games though that you will get the most out of it if you are playing with friends and using mics, as teamwork is a must. Some great new game dynamics elevate this one above the fray, making it the best asymmetrical horror game in recent memory.
Nathan Carter · Aug 30, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - As it stands now, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a good game with the potential to be great. The multiplayer is fun and exciting, but the game sometimes feels as bare as the bone chimes hanging in the Sawyer family house. Sumo Nottingham and Gun Media clearly have a lot of reverence for the source material, and the two companies have given fans a game that feels true to the license. Hopefully The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will continue to grow and expand in a way that keeps players coming back.
