- The Outbound Ghost flirts with taking the corporeal form of a great Paper Mario-style game but it never fully materializes. The heart is definitely there, with some great music and environments to go along with adorable little ghost characters, but a shallow battle system, a meandering narrative, and fuzzy presentation left us wanting in just about every ghostly regard.
Lowell Bell · Dec 21, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The Outbound Ghost is a game that does its best to capture the charming artistic style of Paper Mario, telling a surprisingly compelling tale of regrets and having very fun combat along the way that lends itself to a lot of replayability to try out new strategies or challenge yourself as a player!
Camrin Santchi · Oct 17, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - To Outbound Ghost's credit, the artwork is relatively charming and the environments are colorful and varied. Even the UI is clean and fits well with the presentation of the rest of the game. Compared to its contemporaries, Outbound may be the most visually appealing, which makes it all the more disappointing that the experience itself is so hollow.
Bryan Vitale · Oct 10, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Its story is completely underdeveloped and ends without much of it being resolved or explained. The combat is fun at first and encourages creative combinations of Figments and their Aspects, but it does start to feel repetitive after a while.
Heidi Hawes · Oct 05, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Outbound Ghost is still the best Paper Mario styled game I’ve played in many years. It easily offers a dozen hours of gameplay, and that’s just if you play the main story.
Josh Speer · Sep 29, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I don’t recommend The Outbound Ghost at this time, but I hope the developers continue to improve it with patches and continue to make games in genres they care about. While there is a lot of promise here, The Outbound Ghost just doesn’t reach its potential.
Izzy Parsons · Sep 29, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Outbound Ghost looks and sounds wonderful, but that’s about all there is to enjoy here. Exploration and combat are both incredibly tedious, and the story meanders for about six hours until it ends with nothing resolved. I want to like this game, but it feels like it lacks any sort of central vision.
David Flynn · Sep 21, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The graphics in The Outbound Ghost are great, the 2D characters are super cute and the environments they travel through look nice too. The world is full of puzzles that will require you to do some thinking to unlock different areas, some require you to light all the torches that you find to open up hidden places, and others will require you to pick locks to unlock gates or doors.
Alana Dunitz · Oct 01, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Outbound Ghost has been one of the more complicated reviews I've had to do in my time. There is a lot of potential here and in some areas, it really feels like Conradical Games have nailed the brief.

Trailers & Screenshots:
The Outbound Ghost is an adventure RPG about helping ghosts ascend to the afterlife. The town of Outbound is, quite literally, a ghost town – a home to troubled spooks with unresolved earthly issues, condemning them to an eternity haunting their old *ahem* haunts. Battle the past, gain new abilities, solve puzzles, and uncover the mysteries of Outbound to help its unliving residents find peace, freeing them from the shackles of their ghostly limbo.
Developer: Conradical Games
