- Will The Crew Motorfest speed past its competition to take the chequered flag, or will it lose control and skid off the track?
Jaz Sagoo · Oct 12, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Being able to go from a car into a plane at the press of a button is dope, while I wish the developers had tuned the controls for all the vehicles instead of just focusing on the cars; I never had a real issue controlling the planes, boats or off-road vehicles. But if you are looking to catch some beautiful Hawaiian sun, drive some of the most beautiful cars you’ve ever seen, then The Crew Motorfest might be for you.
Miguel Varela · Oct 11, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The Crew Motorfest is clearly trying to be very similar to its competition, but it can't help but fall short. In the many areas where its features are almost carbon copies, they aren't implemented as well and force the player into playing the game in an odd way between bouts of grinding for credits. In the areas where it tries new things, it barely commits to them and leaves them feeling like afterthoughts. If Forza Horizon could also be played on Sony hardware, The Crew Motorfest would have no reason to exist.
Tony "OUberLord" Mitera · Sep 29, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The graphics are impressive and playing on a PS5 really showed off the retracing effects and sheer speed of the game. It was difficult at times not to focus on the detailed landscaping and environments around me and to focus on winning. There are plenty of challenges and races for players to conduct if they are not ready to take on live opponents but they are always there should the need or desire arise.
gareth · Sep 28, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The Crew Motorfest manages to be an incredibly entertaining racing sandbox experience, despite the expected presence of Ubisoft’s monetization and trademark sterility. While some questionable design choices drag the title’s overall quality down a notch, my time in digital Hawaii was largely a memorable and enjoyable one.
Community Guest Writer · Sep 27, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It’s unfortunate that pervasive online requirements and microtransactions sully what is otherwise a chilled out, holiday vibe in The Crew Motorfest, but I had a good time regardless. Hanging out on O’ahu, learning about various car cultures and driving some awesome-feeling vehicles over varied terrain and event types is just damned good fun.
Steven Impson · Sep 25, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The sights and sounds displayed throughout The Crew Motorfest aren’t its only selling point. Motorfest is fun. Period. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel and certainly won’t scratch the sim-racing itch you may find yourself with. But, for what it’s trying to achieve, Motorfest mostly nails it. I desperately miss the ability to race across the entirety of the United States. And with a more focused setting, I hoped the narrative might receive more attention than it did. That said, Motorfest may be what you’re looking for if Forza Horizon 5 has overstayed its welcome.
Rhett Waselenchuk · Sep 25, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Motorfest doesn’t need an economy, it needs a purpose. When the game allows you to absolutely tear arse across its vividly realised world in a variety of finely tuned machines, it roars to life. An idealised and refined racing experience that offers you a place to shut out the world and instead live the dream of nabbing cars that would cost you the average Aussie home and send them flying across impossibly beautiful spaces.
James Wood · Sep 24, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Motorfest is the most exhilarating, fun and satisfying the franchise has ever been, with improved handling, graphics, less cluttered progression and even a few smart tweaks to Horizon’s ideas. It even features much more unique events, combined with a more varied selection of vehicle styles including bikes, planes and boats even – though the latter aspect feels like a remainder from the previous game, rather than something that received major focus. It may not reach the stellar highs of the Forza Horizon games, with the loot game and open world side activities remaining a bit stale like in the previous game, but The Crew Motorfest is a lovely open world arcade racer that fans of said formula should definitely try.
