- The Amazing Spider-Man on Vita is at heart a good game, with all of the content of the home console versions available to you on the move. However the technical flaws and shortcomings that occur could potentially diminish your enjoyment depending on your outlook on such things. Personally I was mostly able to look past them and enjoy swinging around New York whilst aiding the citizens that live there.
Dominic Leighton · Jan 08, 2014 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - While this isn’t exactly a dazzling port, the feeling of swinging around Manhattan without a care in the world is most definitely still present. The storyline’s simple but serviceable, and the arcade-esque combo-based combat works well. Unfortunately, the visuals are incredibly disappointing, and the ghastly glitches during cut-scenes make it difficult to relate to characters that are missing their foreheads.
Ben Tarrant · Dec 22, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - The Amazing Spider-Man has some seriously fun gameplay, but it can only really be appreciated on other platforms. Once bugs start popping up, the experience on Vita starts to become as infected as the civilians Spider-Man fights to rescue. Audio issues, frame-rate problems, and even a few game-crashing bugs all tarnish this otherwise-decent game. There is very little reason to pick up this game for your Vita.
Bob Fekete · Dec 10, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - It’s also worth noting that while I haven’t played The Amazing Spider-Man on any other console, I’m told it’s very true to the original in content and isn’t stripped down like most handheld release versions of major console titles.
Kyle Wakeling · Nov 27, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - The Spider-Man game franchise has long been a series that gamers have always thought should work, but it rarely has. The third attempt from Beenox, but first attempt at an open world version, shows some promise, but it has a lot of cracks along the way.
Joseph Fait · Aug 16, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - My Human playthrough ended up a little over 7 hours, and I left about 2/3 of the extra activities untouched. There’s an impressive amount of extras and a complete overhaul on the free play. The web swinging is better, and the combat system is much more effective (not to mention some awesome Signature Moves). With some fun changes, cool extras, and a moderate replay value, The Amazing Spider-Man is surprisingly one of the better Spider-Man games.
Khris Golder · Jul 26, 2012 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Roaming the city skyline and then zipping down into combat is exhilarating stuff, until the gloss wears off and The Amazing Spider-Man becomes a game where you’ll have seen it all before.
Lee Abrahams · Jul 20, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Beenox has done some good work with the webslinger, but to call its latest Spider-Man game "amazing" on 3DS would be a massive stretch. The story is passable, nestling deep enough that you want to see where it may go, and almost in spite of itself delivers enough moments that really capture the essence of Spider-Man, but between the repetition and glitches there may come a point where you'll have to have a good think about whether it's a game you want to see through to the end of its six-to-eight hours.
Jon Wahlgren · Jul 11, 2012 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - You'll excuse me for damning a game with faint praise, but The Amazing Spider-Man is pretty good for a superhero movie tie-in. This is also the best Spider-Man game to roll off Activision's sturdy assembly line in years, even though that isn't saying very much.
Nick Cowen · Jul 11, 2012 Reviewed on X360Read full review - There are a few minor annoyances with the interface as well; chapter select and various other options are only available from your commonly inaccessible apartment, and you can only have one master save going at any one time. Still, a good Spider-Man game should foremost be about actually making the player feel like Spider-Man, and that's where The Amazing Spider-Man really earns its adjective.
