  • SwapQuest is a fun little title that successfully blurs the lines between RPG and the puzzler Pipe Dream. While it does have some drawbacks, its addictive gameplay remains entertaining throughout, which really comes into its own in the final few hours. There’s nothing groundbreaking here, but what SwapQuest can provide you with is an enjoyable distraction on a quiet summer’s day.

  • Simply put, if you look at Swapquest and think, “I think I’d like this,” then you would – and there’s nothing wrong with that. Again, it’s a good experience overall, despite the only challenge being those amazing bosses.

  • Considering the budget price and aesthetic, the most that was expected from SwapQuest was a silly little time waster that used the puzzle and RPG genre to create an enjoyable time. In other words, a throwaway title. SwapQuest does more than that. Though some issues should have been addressed with the pacing, the actual game design is pretty darn fun. Most of the game is well put together and engaging and when it finally reaches its pinnacle, with the bosses and the Sky Tower, it becomes a compulsory addictive game.

  • SwapQuest is a puzzle game that has some light RPG elements and trappings. Its path-based gameplay is smart and challenging without being completely overwhelming. In short, it'spretty phenomenal.

  • Though the heroes’ brainless wanderings can get frustrating, SwapQuest is a satisfying and unique way to spend a few hours. There are times when your brain and your fingers get their signals crossed and leave you helpless in the face of the advancing Horde – but when you figure everything out and crawl across the finish line, victory is ever so sweet.

  • SwapQuest is a perfect example of a game with a simple premise that is executed so well and includes so many complementary layers that it becomes an experience far beyond that premise. It’s rare to get a complete puzzle experience without any IAP or freemium elements that impact it. Obviously its roots mean that that there’s subset of folks that it won’t be able to appeal to but for everyone else it’s well worth checking out.

  • With Nintendo just announcing that it’s getting into mobile games, it’s kind of ironic that SwapQuest has appeared on the scene, with its early-Legend of Zelda influences. With its clever mix of retro and modern, it’s the sort of mobile game I’d love to see from the big N.

  • This game has a rich trophy list for those players looking to find themselves a hefty number of trophies, also the platinum for this trophy isn’t hugely difficult to complete at all, it just has a few grindy elements that many will be completed through the completion of the story line anyways.

  • Swap Quest is a cutesy, tile swapping RPG and puzzle hybrid with clear mobile roots. It doesn't feel robust enough on console and is better played on mobile.

  • SwapQuest is a bright and breezy release that's well suited to the PlayStation Vita. We didn't especially appreciate the release's decision to make us rush, but there's an appeal to the simplistic gameplay that will keep you venturing the land of Aventana – especially if you've got a bit of time to kill.
