- Stray on Switch 2 is a step up from the original Switch version of the game, though it still isn’t the ideal way to step into the cat’s paws.
· Jun 06, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Stray on the Nintendo Switch 2 is a step above its initial release on Nintendo hardware, providing new players with impressive visuals and a more consistent experience on the platform.
· May 29, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Stray on the Switch 2 version aims to deliver a sharper, smoother and more immersive adventure, but does it do the game justice?
· May 29, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - "Regardless of the platform you play on, Stray is the cat’s meow"
Aleksandar Perišić · Dec 10, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Stray is an adventure puzzle game where humans are long gone and the world is governed by robots. Trot around as a cat to find out what happend and if that means getting your claws dirty...then so be it! A rich narrative and creative soundtrack set the pawfect atmosphere to roam in. The Switch's inability to run laborious tasks efficiently are still noticeable, but the lazing strive of a cute feline overshadows all!
Nay Clark · Nov 24, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - For cat-lovers and Xbox lovers, Stray is a pleasant and uncanny feline-centred adventure game that’ll be purr-cisely what many will be looking for. The various cat behaviours are cool, the dark alleyways and neon evoke a particular kind of foreboding atmosphere, and there simply isn’t another game out there quite like Stray. However, Stray’s presentation is a mask for routine gameplay dynamics, and the overarching dreariness of the dystopia setting doesn’t mesh convincingly with the playful moments found dotted throughout.
James Davie · Aug 14, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Stray is a good game, even great at times. It has some very well designed levels, it looks fantastic, it has an intriguing story, and it does a fairly decent job of making you feel like a cat exploring a new world. But while it does those things well, it has many areas that don’t keep up. The strict jumping can often be a disappointment, the puzzles are almost always too simple, and while the game doesn’t overstay its welcome, I found the second half to be significantly worse, largely due to the lack of verticality in the levels, but also for other reasons as well.
Aarsal Masoodi · Aug 13, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Yes, it does help if you're a cat lover because it is so beautifully animated and captures the cat's personality so perfectly, but there's so much to love here. Between the alluring semi-post-apocalyptic story, the dense, atmospheric world, and the cast of quirky characters that inhabit it, BlueTwelve Studio has created a fantastic experience here. Stray is the perfect game to make everybody want to be a cat this summer.
Sam Loveridge · Aug 10, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - My time with Stray didn’t change my life or make me rethink gaming or give me bold new insight into what it means to be alive. It was a game, and I appreciate that it exists, and that’s sort of it.

About the game
Trailers & Screenshots:
Lost, alone and separated from family, a stray cat must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten city. Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed, neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by curious droids and dangerous creatures. See the world through the eyes of a cat and interact with the environment in playful ways. Be stealthy, nimble, silly, and sometimes as annoying as possible with the strange inhabitants of this mysterious world. Along the way, the cat befriends a small flying drone, known only as B12. With the help of this newfound companion, the duo must find a way out. Stray is developed by BlueTwelve Studio, a small team from the south of France mostly made up of cats and a handful of humans.
