- Star Wars Battlefront is a graphical tour de force that fails whenever it becomes an interactive experience. There are hints of better games here, but nothing that saves it from mediocrity.
Alex Santa Maria · Nov 30, 2015 Reviewed on PC, XB1Read full review - For 10 hours, you’ll be thrilled. Beyond that, you’re going to run out of things to do. But those 10 hours are a blast. I’m going in circles. Battlefront is a great experience that there just isn’t enough of to A) justify the price and B) give the experience staying power. Casual shooter fans will probably be delighted, but seasoned Stormtroopers will probably be left wanting more. Which side do you fall on? Search your feelings.
Paul Sullivan · Nov 25, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - DICE has absolutely knocked the presentation out of the park, making you feel like you're smack dab in the middle of your favorite action scenes from the classic Star Wars film trilogy. For many Star Wars enthusiasts, that's going to be more than enough to justify the price of admission. For everyone else, however, a limited amount of content and a few missteps will potentially diminish long-term appeal. This is a strong return for the Battlefront moniker, but there's much room for improvement.
Dave Letcavage · Nov 24, 2015 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Star Wars: Battlefront is everything a Star Wars fan could want. The game’s locations feel iconic, complete recreations of the beautiful settings introduced to us in the movies. But the game’s casual attitude towards weapons, and the limited number of locations to explore make Star Wars: Battlefront sizzle out far too early.
Josh Hawkins · Nov 23, 2015 Reviewed on PC, PS4, XB1Read full review - he main menu constantly reminds you that you haven't purchased the Season Pass, but it also reminds me how shallow Battlefront is compared to modern FPS titles. Once the Jedi Mind Trick of nostalgia and Star Wars love wears off, you'll realize there are plenty of better multiplayer shooters out there that aren't as far, far away.
Jon Ledford · Nov 23, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Star Wars: Battlefront is fun. It’s a great Star Wars game. What I can’t tell you right now, however, is if it has any longevity. Right now, the lack of map variety could mean that you get sick of the game faster than you would otherwise, and EA dividing the community in the future with paid DLC planets may not help the problem.
Mike Minotti · Nov 23, 2015 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Star Wars: Battlefront does a fantastic job of transporting players into the Star Wars universe for a big initial kicker, but that ultimately fades when you realize how light it is on content and game features. A textbook case of style over substance. If you're a Star Wars fan you will enjoy it and get your money's worth. For Battlefield fans, this is not the team-based shooter you are looking for.
Steven Bogos · Nov 20, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Star Wars Battlefront is undoubtedly the Star Wars experience that we all wanted, it’s just a shame that there’s a distinct lack of content. That said, playing Battlefront is as close to being in a Star Wars movie as you're ever likely to get.
Dan Webb · Nov 19, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It’s polished, easy to play, and the interface is simple and intuitive. They’ve created a game that anyone can play—from kids to adults—and that’s admirable. Everyone loves Star Wars, and Battlefront reflects that mainstream, cross-generational appeal. But the downside of chasing such a broad audience is that, as a competitive shooter, it’s fairly shallow.
Andy Kelly · Nov 18, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Electronic Arts has been shameless in its behavior, but again, I can’t stress enough how much of a delight the game itself has been – at least during its launch period. That I’m not just slapping a five or lower on the score should be taken as a sign of just how high the quality is. That I cannot give it higher than a seven, conversely, speaks volumes of how overwhelming a shadow has been cast by its DLC.
