  • Squirrel with a Gun is pretty much exactly what you’d imagine it to be from the title alone. Yes, it’s shallow but it is also a lot of fun with it. Don’t expect a massively polished blockbuster, ‘cause this it aint. As physics-based playgrounds go, this is a good one. It’s fine to be silly and throwaway, which is exactly what this game is. Enjoy, switch off your brain and blow away some Agent Smith-a-likes with your rocket launcher.

  • Indeed putting you in control of a gun-toting rodent, Squirrel with a Gun lets you lose in a suburban sandbox. There's plenty of platforming, shooting and puzzle solving to be done as you explore and collect the acorns required to make progress, and you can take things at your own pace. It's just a shame that it doesn't fulfil its potential due to a number of issues.

  • Squirrel with a Gun is charming and a nutty idea at first glance. It’s better enjoyed in small bursts as to keep its small supply of silliness enjoyed to the fullest extent. If you’ve ever wanted to go nuts being a squirrel with a large arsenal of guns, this is the simulation for you.

  • Squirrel with a Gun is a chaotic time that is always looking to place your rodent in the most insane positions to make them look like an action movie star. It is quite janky at times and can wear on you fast, so we don’t necessarily recommend trying to knock all of its content out at once, but for a side game that you can go to when you need a break from everything else, Squirrel with a Gun is worthy of your time.

  • I enjoyed my time with this game, simple as that. It’s not too serious (see the name) and it provides a nice mix of combat, platforming, and puzzle solving. I particularly like how obtuse some puzzles may seem but once you know the answer they are quite simple. The sheer exploration and process of figuring out the solutions was enough to keep me intrigued for the adequate time this game lasts which is likely going to be less than 10 hours for finding everything. Fans of other popular animal physics based simulators should feel at home here. Don’t expect a AAA budget banger and enjoy the wackiness here that Squirrel With A Gun is offering.

  • Squirrel with a Gun won’t take you too long to complete, but there’s a good few hours of gameplay here if you’re the type that likes to collect everything. It’s worth doing so too, because there are so many little details and opportunities to laugh yourself silly. It may be a shooter, a platformer and a puzzler, but more importantly Squirrel with a Gun is absolutely nuts. Its shortcomings are more than made up for by the sheer amount of fun you’ll have playing as a squirrel, with a gun.

  • The opening absurdity of Squirrel With A Gun lives up to its name with some of the most ridiculous moments I've had in a video game. Once the novelty wears off however, you're left with a hollow, janky and frustrating video game that's a better meme than it is a gameplay experience. Still, the initial hilarity may be worth it for the more immaturely minded.

  • Squirrel With a Gun is more than just a jokey throwaway meme game, but in some ways this is its biggest downfall. There is so much potential in the central mechanics that is held back by floaty controls and so it falls between two stools. A little more refinement and this could have been a more solid experience, but as a joke it goes on too long. That being said, there is enough here to entertain if you can look past those control issues.
