In Skogdal we want to both pay homage to and make fun of our upbringing in a small Norwegian town during the 90's. Our goal is to make a game that is first and foremost fun to play and explore, with memorable characters and interesting gameplay mechanics. As a Roguelike Deckbuilding Card Game, we are definitely inspired by some of the great classics of the genre. But we also hope to bring something that is fresh and different too. In our world, the world you explore is fully defined and hand-crafted by us, and not procedurally generated. However, the events you encounter at the various locations throughout the game, the fights you face and the cards and tools you can draft will be randomized. Making sure one run feels different from the previous one, offering that high replayability we all enjoy of this genre. We also want to provide an intruiging plot to the game, a mystery for the player to solve. And in order to solve this, you will have to visit multiple areas of the town, complete different paths and unlock the whole world. Finally, we have included some fun secrets too. We hope you have as much fun playing Skogdal, as we have had making it!
