- Signalis is the type of horror game that keeps you hooked from beginning to its true end. The story is told in a confusing way, but the delivery succeeds in keeping you intrigued enough to see its conclusion. Sparse inventory management aside, it achieves a nice balance between puzzles and combat, and even if you figure out that flight is a more formidable strategy than fight, the overall tension and sense of unease remains.
Cody Medellin · Apr 05, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Signalis is the best example of its kind in modern video games. Don’t expect Signalis to evolve survival horror formulae or give you a horror experience that’s resoundingly new, but provided that you crave a faithful and sumptuous classic horror game experience, Signalis will be a nice and welcoming surprise that you will be sure to savor.
James Davie · Dec 21, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Signalis has been in development for 8 years! And it is clear that all 8 years they put their soul into it. From the plot to the sound effects, everything looks very concise. He hides the secrets of this world.
Brau3er · Dec 06, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Despite this one persistent wrinkle, Signalis is one of the best horror games I’ve played in years. Tense, upsetting and thought-provoking. It takes a hundred familiar elements, inspirations and references and weaves them into something entirely new, and thoroughly worthwhile.
Dominic Tarason · Nov 22, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Signalis pretty much perfects this new wave of retro survival horror. It has a surprisingly engaging world that just pulls you in and never lets go.
Kyle Nicol · Nov 10, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Signalis does a lot of heavy lifting, bringing 90’s genre tropes into the cold light of the present, and it does enough to modernize them to both feel contemporary and timeless, almost to the point that playing Signalis is analogous to how you remember such games as Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
Daniel Solomon · Nov 08, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - SIGNALIS is special. While it stumbles as a mechanical presentation of its contemporaries, it carves a new home for itself within a genre that is now beginning to return to the spotlight. While it may not be the new face of survival horror, cosmic horror, or even nihilistic horror, it shows determination in the wake of a revival aesthetic that may see oversaturation, and it has character.
SAMIEE "GUTTERPUNK" TEE · Nov 02, 2022 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - SIGNALIS is a wonderful, mind-bending experience and the passion of the developers can be seen in every pixel.
Zachary Miller · Oct 30, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Signalis is a near-perfect love letter to the survival horror genre. Its atmosphere and tension feel natural and earned, with callbacks to sci-fi classics scattered throughout. It is at its best when you're darting between enemies, using stealth and patience rather than brute force. While some of the combat encounters felt a little forced, the puzzles are just the right mix of challenging and approachable. The surreal imagery and unique storytelling structure add to the overall polish of a game that is the perfect length for what it is.
Trent Cannon · Oct 29, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Signalis will be the weekend horror adventure you’ll want to discuss with your friends. It’s challenging, engaging, and nightmarishly fun. I couldn’t seem to step away as something always allows you to inch forward to some answers.
