  rymdkapsel is for everyone interested in sitting down for a few solid minutes of quality gaming time with their device. It's no 30-second quick-fail addiction fest; rather, it's a slow burning strategic fun that hits the sweet spot between complex and satisfying. Spacey ambient soundtrack's great, too.

  I found a lot to like about Rymdkapsel. The art style is gorgeous in its simplicity, and despite my frustration with the minions, juggling them between build and attack waves felt properly tense. However, it’s hard not to notice the potential greatness it could have had if not for a few design concessions to its minimalist design philosophy, proving that sometimes a little complexity is a good thing.

  But just like Tetris, the fun here is in the unique experience you’ll get with each random set of blocks in a new game, and in the ever-increasing intensity and desperation you feel as the stakes get higher and the pace gets quicker. Rymdkapsel is one game that will live in my phone for a long time.

  It’s frustrating because with specific controls, I’d have my gameplan down tighter than I do with the automatic commands. It’s a tradeoff, but one I’d like more say in just how much I’m trading. Rymdkapsel is a beautiful game, one that I enjoy playing, but I would just enjoy it so much more if it wasn’t so frustrating, especially in late-game scenarios. I highly recommend it regardless.

  I still absolutely love rymdkapsel and consider it a fantastic go-to strategy game that can be great for extended play sessions or short bursts. The simple visuals and interface belie a rather complex and difficult game that’s certainly worth a look. It just loses a little of its luster after wave 20 or so.
