- Το Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven είναι ένα αξιόλογο remake που προσφέρει ιδανική εισαγωγή στον κόσμο της σειράς SaGa, ιδιαίτερα για όσους θέλουν να δοκιμάσουν τον πρόγονο του Octopath Traveler, έχοντας βέβαια πάντα κατά νου ότι ο τίτλος διακρίνεται για την υψηλή του πρόκληση.

It's filled with systems that are fun to explore and utilize alongside a core gameplay conceit that remains unique. If you're looking for a different take on JRPGs--or just a unique RPG in general--this is a lengthy journey you'll want to invest lots of time into.

It's not for everyone, but if you like your JRPGs, then you will have a good time. It’s open-ended nature and generation-skipping gameplay make for a novel and entertaining wrapper to some classic turn-based battling. A high-quality and considerate remake, which hopefully paves the way for more.

Mais ces deux défauts ne sont que les dégâts collatéraux d’un système de jeu considéré comme révolutionnaire à l’époque. Avec un principe de succession et d’évolution de notre empire à travers le temps, Romancing 2 marque le public et nous laisse imaginer ce qu’un nouvel épisode de ce type pourrait être avec la technologie et les standards actuels. Le titre s'adresse un peu plus au grand public, au risque de simplifier un peu trop l'expérience au déplaisir des fans les plus hardcore. Ces derniers, justement, pourront tout de même ajuster leurs réglages au mieux et enfin profiter d’un jeu intégralement sous-titré en français bénéficiant d’un doublage et d’une refonte graphique tout deux réussis, sans être transcendants.

Uno es ser un producto muy apegado al material original, sin apenas cambios significativos más allá del nuevo aspecto visual. Tiene una historia sosa y personajes olvidables. Aunque su jugabilidad es atípica, puede no atraer a todos, especialmente por su aleatoriedad. Gráficamente, el juego se siente anticuado, con modelados que se asemejan a figuras de plástico.

The game definitely shows its age in some places, in particular when it comes to the lack of character personality and the simplistic combat system. This does make the game very accessible, and thanks to both the successor and glimmer mechanics, there is still some depth to be found here. If you can adjust your expectations to match the original game’s age, then you’ll definitely enjoy what Romancing SaGa 2 has to offer.

You can even choose between the original and a remastered orchestral score full of earworms from the glory days of the '90s. A remake of a classic JRPG many Western fans have missed, even three decades later, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven's inventive mechanics make it a worthwhile experience.

Intendiamoci, la parte più interessante è propria la narrativa non lineare, mentre gli altri aspetti sono assolutamente nella media. Ciò che purtroppo non contribuisce a portare in auge il prodotto di base - e quindi nemmeno questo remake - è la pletora di personaggi piuttosto piatti che il titolo per forza di cose offre. C'è comunque tanto da giocare, scoprire, esplorare e non possiamo sicuramente non consigliare questo remake a chiunque sia in cerca di un pezzetto di storia nascosta del genere, quegli esponenti che non sapevate esistessero ma che, a modo loro, hanno ancora qualche idea carina da trasmettere... tutto rigorosamente in inglese.
