  • Another Impressive Port For The Switch 2 When the Switch 2 came out, my initial question was “why?” Why give a new updated Switch that looks and arguably plays the exact same as the original model?

  • RPD-elightful. Capcom’s decision to release a bunch of modern Resident Evil games on the Switch via the cloud was controversial, to say the least.

  • Twenty years ago, Resident Evil 2 set the standards for the survival horror genre. Now the remake has raised the bar, and in doing that, it ended up becoming the best Resident Evil title ever made.

  • All told, Resident Evil 2 is an utterly fantastic remake, reimagining a 90’s classic for a modern audience with modern sensibilities. A single playthrough is slight at about 8-10 hours, but every minute is oozing with quality. If that’s enough for you there are also alternative routes with other characters, a couple of secret modes and some fairly crazy unlockables for those who absolutely master the game. Resident Evil 2 is a brilliant rendition of one of the finest survival horror experiences of all time.

About the game

A port of Resident Evil 2, enhanced with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters. Resident Evil 2 is a sequel to the first Resident Evil title. Like the previous game in the series, Resident Evil 2 is a 3D action-adventure using three-dimensional polygon characters over two-dimensional pre-rendered backgrounds, with the action viewed through a variety of cinematic fixed camera angles in each room. Players can choose to play as one of two possible characters; each goes through the same initial scenario but with differences in the type of weaponry they find and the people they meet along the way.
