  • I've tried on several occasions to find multiplayer opponents, but no one has ever picked up on the other end, so I can't judge how well the game plays online. As for single-player, I was left with the feeling it should have been called R.B.I. Baseball 2017 and put into Early Access for a couple years.

  • What was claimed to be a fun and accessible game actually is nothing like that. I would argue that the deeper, realistic MLB 15 The Show is more accessible and certainly more fun than R.B.I. Baseball 15. ...R.B.I. Baseball 15 isn’t a fun trip into nostalgia. At this point it's doing more harm to the legacy of a once proud series than anything. Even at a significant price drop, this game isn’t worth your time. Avoid it like the plague.

If RBI Baseball keeps improving at this rate, it should catch up to Sony’s MLB: The Show series by 2045 or so. While there are a few improvements worth celebrating in RBI Baseball 15, and its arcade-style play has become slightly more attractive, the fact that I could barely get through a game without hitting an error that made me want to charge the virtual mound keeps it on the bench unless you’re extra-desperate for a baseball game on your Xbox One.

  • R.B.I. Baseball 2015 isn’t a bad game. It’s not a genre-defining game, either. At $20, there are certainly worse things you can throw your money at (I’m looking at you, Yorbie). If you need a quick arcade baseball fix, then R.B.I. Baseball 2015 can hit the spot. However, when last year’s MLB 14 The Show can be had for a mere $5 more at this point, you may want to save up a little bit to experience a more complete package.

  • A retro-feeling throwback to the days of arcade baseball games. It offers simple, basic fun, but the pitching and hitting just doesn't feel robust enough to appeal to anyone other than the most casual of baseball fans.

  • At the end of the day, we're not entirely sure why R.B.I. Baseball has been revived. A full-on, retro styled game would perhaps be a reasonable alternative to MLB The Show, but this game ventures way too closely to Sony's series without having the budget to compete – and it makes a poor connection as a consequence. Bench this one, and get your baseball fix elsewhere.
