  Il TCG Pocket di Pokémon va analizzato per quello che è, ovvero un’opera mastodontica ma chiaramente in divenire. Si tratta della digitalizzazione più ambiziosa di sempre del popolare cardgame, nonché del principale tentativo di svecchiarne le meccaniche cardine da qualche anno a questa parte. Dal punto di vista tecnico, l’app per dispositivi mobili è ben fatta e i collezionisti saranno lieti di trascorrere ore e ore immersi tra mazzi, raccoglitori e display dei loro Pokémon preferiti. Al contempo, una distribuzione parca delle carte più rare rischia di minare l’esperienza di tutti gli utenti, da chi desidera solo “acchiapparli tutti” a chi punta a sperimentare quanti più mazzi competitivi possibile. Per quest’ultima tipologia di giocatori, però, lo scoglio più grosso da superare è quello della semplicità non solo delle meccaniche, ampiamente snellite rispetto alle originali, ma anche delle carte in sé. Semplicità che può aver senso in un set introduttivo, certo, ma che deve assolutamente lasciare il passo a strategie più profonde nel prossimo futuro.

  Le JCC Pokémon Pocket apporte une nouvelle façon de profiter des cartes que l'on connait depuis de nombreuses années en nous offrant la possibilité d'en collectionner directement via notre smartphone. Le tout en ajoutant une touche visuelle supplémentaire grâce aux cartes immersives ainsi qu'un mode combat avec des règles simplifiées permettant à tous de découvrir le jeu sans se prendre la tête. Toutefois, il reste un jeu service qui s'ancre dans le quotidien et dont le contenu peut vite lasser si vous cherchez un jeu sur lequel passer de nombreuses heures d'affiliées, sans oublier qu'il peut vite devenir addictif.

  GCC Pokémon Pocket è un modo fresco e veloce per entrare nel mondo delle carte collezionabili di Pokémon. Da una parte semplifica e velocizza gli scontri, rinunciando a un po' di strategia, dall'altra pone l'accento sull'elemento collezionistico e sulla bellezza delle illustrazioni che recentemente valorizzano le nuove espansioni cartacee. Il risultato è un gioco da prendere a piccoli morsi, così da non entrare nel vortice dalle tante microtransazioni presenti, comunque non asfissianti. Sarà interessante vedere come Pocket e Live evolveranno parallelamente nei prossimi mesi, ma per il momento si tratta di una piacevole digressione rispetto all'esperienza originale.

  All told, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket's collection loop is heavily monetised with about six too many currencies to keep track of, but the kinetic feeling of opening packs and pulling gorgeous cards of your favourite Pokémon transcends most of the annoyance that the monetisation causes. The battles, on the other hand, function as a great baseline for newcomers but currently lack the competitive or strategic edge to invest a lot of time into them. In this way, Pokémon TCG Pocket mirrors the real-world TCG as the collection aspect once again proves much more appealing than battling despite reworked mechanics.

  I do feel like Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is a fantastic introduction to trading cards. The whole game feels polished and juicy, however, I really feel like I do not want to wait so long to open cards. I know this is a personal issue and I am excited for them to open up trading so that I can fill out my dex more efficiently. It's one part collection one part casual battling, creating something really fun.
