  • Plants vs. Zombies 2 is a charming and unique tower defense game where we fend off hordes of zombies by planting various flora “towers” in our square-grid yard that then attack the enemies.

  • PvZ2 is an excellent sequel and a deep and elegant tower defense game in its own right. If you can stand the art direction – or, like me, grow to, UGH, kinda like it – and have any interest in strategy games, you owe it to yourself to try this. And if you're new to the genre, this is a great place to start.

  • Plants vs. Zombies 2 is a significant update to the original game and brings loads more zombies, plants and bonus items. The graphics are fresher, the sound is fantastic and the familiar gameplay is lots of fun. The only sacrifice you really make is the potential need for significant IAPs if you want to complete the game.

  • Plants vs Zombies 2 is a fun new take on the loveable gameplay of the first title. Not everyone is going to be a fan of the in-app payments system but EA has managed to produce one of the better games using this model today. With enticing gameplay, a charming theme and a non-existent price tag, there’s no reason you shouldn’t give Plants vs Zombies 2 a try.

  • The desire to pay only really kicks in for those who are very engrossed in the game and after a long, long amount of time. It’s not perhaps the ideal free-to-play, but it’s done in such a way that the need to spend just to play the game isn’t there. I think that the reaction to the game’s free-to-play is built around one’s personal biases: those who hate free-to-play will probably hate this, and those fine with free-to-play will love this. But really, it’s worth remembering just how much game is given away for free.

  • All of the new maps and new ways to play create a novel experience, close enough to the game you loved for so many years to satisfy that zombie-smashing urge but with enough new bells and whistles to keep you entertained. Continue the fun in the sequel to Plants vs. Zombies. New plants, new zombies, and new maps make this a must play.

  • If you played PvsZ, you'll love it with all your guts, otherwise you should give it a go anyway. That's all, folks. If you played the first, play the second. Otherwise, play the second, at least to have your own word about the game everybody has been talking, is talking and will be talking about.

  • So long as EA and PopCap don't eventually ruin the game through greedy in-app purchases, the base game at launch is a treat, and worth a download from every iOS owner out there. What you're getting is basically more of that classic Plants vs. Zombie experience, with just enough tweaks to keep it interesting -- and that's more than enough for me.

  • Finally and as expected, the game has undergone a graphics overhaul. The great sense of humor is heightened by better animation and more detailed, yet still cartoonish graphics. The soundtrack is instantly familiar to fans of course, and the whole package is terrifically presented.

  • Plants vs. Zombies 2 is everything you could have wanted, or expected, from the sequel to one of the greatest casual games of all time. It’s safe to say this one was well worth the wait, and then so much more.
