  Ultimately, Pinball Arcade is an excellent representation of classic pinball machines from over the years. The tables are generally very well designed, there's a broad array of options to choose from, and the replayability is virtually unlimited. Barring some performance issues and a hokey means of buying tables in bulk, this is pinball at its finest. We'd strongly recommend you pick this one up, there's something here for everybody and it's pure arcade magic.

  Sparse leaderboard and multiplayer options dull the shine a little, but The Pinball Arcade still offers an exceptional simulation of a classic arcade pastime. By combining realistic physics with obsessive recreations of some of the best tables on the planet, developer Farsight Studios has ensured that this package is a prime destination for pinball wizards all over the world. It really is flippin’ fantastic.

  For pinball fanatics or just those curious about gaming’s relatively low-tech past, Pinball Arcade is an excellent starting point for re-experiencing the golden days of quarter-munchers. These tables have never looked better than they do on PS4, and the gameplay is authentic right down to the sound and pressure of each tables’ flippers. The first table’s free, so there’s no excuse; this is a must to download.

  There’s just nothing like being in an arcade and dropping a few quarters into a pinball table in the hopes of beating the table’s current high score. With arcades slowly slipping into oblivion over the years, having your very own personal collection of classic pinball tables could easily drain you of every quarter in your possession. So if you’ve got a Vita handy and a pocketful of quarters, you can trade in your heavy pocket of change for a pocketful of some of the best classic pinball tables ever created.

  FarSight Studios' attempt at replicating authentic pinball tables is on show here. While the base title only contains Mary Shelley's Frankenstein table, it is worth purchasing the additional table packs to bolster the different offerings. However, don't except anything more than that - this is purely a pinball experience without all the bells and whistles, and glitz and glamour of other digital pinball offerings.

  While it may attract criticism for the licensing issues that meant the absence of a number of boards from other versions of the game, The Pinball Arcade isn’t dramatically worse for it due to the similarity of the experiences of each board. It’s pinball, and it’s table pinball. You know what you’re getting.

  It lacks many tables that are in other versions, online tournaments are yet to be patched in and so on. But what’s there is a step up in quality that takes time to develop. The visual fidelity is a big improvement, though perhaps not a big enough leap to tempt people to upgrade from PS3, and it’s thoroughly enjoyable to play such realistic replications. Table by table, it is becoming the definitive, one stop shop for die hard pinball fans.

  The quality of the tables and the action that plays out on them is unbelievably high. To sum it up in a word, Pinball Arcade is authentic. Everything looks right, everything plays right, and if you have any interest in pinball that should be all that matters. There's a paucity of challenges to keep you engaged, but Pinball Arcade makes up for that with sheer power of presentation and rock-solid ball physics.

  Como juego para los verdaderos amantes del pinball es excelente, estando por encima de cualquier otra oferta dentro del género, pero Pinball Arcade es en realidad mucho más que eso: es devoción por las máquinas de millón, es deseo de preservación de un tipo de juego casi extinto y es la búsqueda de la representación más fiel posible de las máquinas originales.
