    Visually the game is unimpressive, but the sound is an obvious highlight as an MTV game. Unfortunately, there's no appeal to continue playing the game or to finish it in the first place, other than a freak electrical storm that destroys every other PS2 game in your library.

    A pimped-out driving game that isn’t as cool as it looks. You tap buttons as they appear on screen – why? Is there anything about that that screams “Pimp My Ride?”? The driving controls are decent, though nowhere near the quality of most other 360 titles. This is better than the PS2 version, but there isn’t anything next-gen about it. rive, crash, mini-game, repeat. Pimp My Ride is a licensed game for die-hard fans.

    Its repetitive nature turns from merely repetitive into completely mind-numbing after just a few rounds of customers, and the way the game makes ghost riding the whip into a completely uninteresting experience borders on offensive. It might nail a few of the presentational elements of the show, but this is a lousy game, and regardless of your affinity for the show, you shouldn't bother with it.

    Graphically, the cars look good, even when they start out as junkers. You don't really get to fully appreciate all of the features that they are endowed with, but you get to enjoy the paint job and any extraneous exterior objects such as rims, spoilers, and golden toilet seats. The city is drab and generic looking, with plenty of aliasing to give you the impression of a budget title.

    It's the equivalent of a movie like Norbit or a TV show like...well, like Pimp My Ride. Accusations of snobbery and elitism be damned, it's Pavlovian gaming for the easily amused, people who still say "shizzle my nizzle" and who'll quite happily repeat pointless tasks over and over just to see another "OH MY FREAKIN' GOD THAT IS SO TOTALLY SICK!!!" cutscene.
