- For these reasons, Pikmin 3 is an easy recommendation for any Wii U owner, and not just for lack of available games as of this writing. Even with a stronger library of competing titles, Pikmin 3 would stand out due to the sheer craft and attention to detail paid to each aspect of its design.
Alex Navarro · Aug 14, 2013 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Right now, Pikmin 3 is the single best piece of software on Wii U. I don't think it's a system seller by any means -- it's a light strategy game about controlling chirpy carrot-men, after all -- but anyone who owns a Wii U should give it a try. I went from being cooly disinterested in Pikmin 3 to completely smitten in the course of an afternoon. It's one of those games in which everything comes together just right. Olimar would be proud.
Jeremy Parish · Aug 01, 2013 Reviewed on Wii U - Nintendo has the amazing ability to craft a game that is equally entertaining for both children and adults alike. Pikmin 3 takes the elements that made first two games so much fun and adds to it. It does exactly what a sequel should do as it retains the roots of an already great game while expanding out into new exciting territory that still feels natural. At the end of the day Pikmin 3 is a rich and exciting experience that deserves to be added to any Wii U owner’s library.
Daniel Kozlowski · Jul 31, 2013 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Scouring the environment for all of the hidden goodies is eminently enjoyable because of the clever problem solving you have to employ, and the competitive mode should test the strength of any friendship. There's nothing quite like Pikmin out there, and its delightful combination of survival strategy and unflinching cuteness should entertain you throughout this lengthy adventure.
Tom Mc Shea · Jul 31, 2013 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - The series' signature creepy, cartoon-like take on real trials of life is there in full force, bolstered by incredibly beautiful graphics, an unexpectedly involving story, tons of secrets, and new ways to play, all while never straying from the spirit of the original game.
Jonathan Holmes · Jul 31, 2013 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Pikmin 3 isn't perfect. It's not as polished, responsive or tightly-designed as the average Nintendo game. But these issues are never bad enough to derail it entirely. Even in its third incarnation, Pikmin's sense of discovery outweighs any control annoyances it may have and provides a charming variety that the Wii U has sorely lacked. Being different counts for a lot.
Philip Kollar · Jul 31, 2013 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - ...there's still nothing quite like Pikmin, and it's fantastic to see new growth finally take root.
Daniel Bloodworth · Jul 31, 2013 Reviewed on Wii U - It's with great pleasure I complete my tour of duty with Pikmin 3. It's not the most complicated experience, but its cute exterior belies some inner sophistication, even if it is sometimes let down by little troubles. Despite its overall friendly nature, Pikmin 3 can make its giant garden truly intimidating when it wants to, ratcheting up the challenge for its boss fights, but never to the point of becoming overwhelming.
Sinan Kubba · Jul 31, 2013 Reviewed on Wii U - Pikmin 3 demonstrates that Nintendo's commitment to quality development has survived in HD, and I found the game to be a major improvement over its predecessors--of which I wasn't the biggest fan. If it could win over a skeptic like me, I imagine that people who loved the first two games will be thrilled by the way this game keeps the series' heart intact but improves on the level design and gameplay.
Becky Cunningham · Jul 31, 2013 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Pikmin 3’s control issues are buoyed by solid improvements to the series and easily accessible alternative inputs. It’s adorable, and if you’re a Wii U owner, consider this an essential game.
