  • Throughout the twists and turns of the game, I felt myself getting more and more involved. Not only did the bosses require focus and team discipline, but the story itself couldn’t progress without keeping your cool and ascertaining who the correct killer was. In addition to the numerous fun-filled “other” activities, like planting a tomato garden with Nanako, or learning bike tricks on your scooter, it was a blast from start to finish.

  • Persona 4 Golden remains a very good JRPG, but the most important virtue of this re-release is that it makes you appreciate even more Persona 5 and the later entries. Unfortunately, this remaster will not make the list of best practices.

  • Persona 4 Golden offers up the same warmth and radiance its name implies. The ease at which the game can leverage atmosphere and emotion is remarkable and not easily emulated. And while Persona 3 might boast a profound story and Persona 5 an abundance of style and flash, it is that intimate atmosphere--that sense of closeness and belonging--that sets Persona 4 apart from both of them.

It is by far one of the best RPGs available and should be played by anyone who has ever had a passing interest in the genre. Do not skip this collection, while Persona 3 is a little rough in this day and age it is still an amazing game and Persona 4 Golden is well, the gold standard. I cannot recommend this package enough.

  • Persona 4 Golden is just great. It was great, it is great now, and it will forever be considered one of the best JRPGs in the business. No matter where you decide to play it, just go for it, sensei.

  • It's a game full of wonderful characters (and Yosuke), and it's a shame that it does not respect those characters adequately. Because of this, despite its rock-solid core gameplay and endearing overarching story, recommending Persona 4 Golden comes with an asterisk pointing to an uncomfortable warning about its dated content.

  • Persona 4 Golden is a fantastic game, and this release is the best way to play it. The characters are loveable, the story is driving, and the entire game is hard to put down until you’ve absorbed it all.

There are few games as colourful, vibrant, or touching as Persona 4. Thanks to an endearing cast, near-unrivaled soundtrack and captivating plot, expect to leave a piece of your heart in Inaba when you finally reach the credits of this gem.

  • Over ten years later, Persona 4 Golden remains a thoroughly enjoyable and engrossing RPG that, for the most part, has stood the test of time.
