- Peglin is a bit of a missed opportunity. It's fun at first, but once you realise that your success depends almost entirely on what the game randomly serves up to you it begins to lose its lustre.
Gareth Chadwick · Sep 09, 2025 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - While it might not reach the towering standards of other recent roguelikes like Balatro, I still had myself a ridiculously fun time and one I’m sure I’ll return to in order to again in the future for another cheeky run or two. Best of all is the fact that Peglin takes something familiar and gives it a unique and interesting spin, one that proves super successful making it an easy recommendation for Nintendo Switch owners looking for something to fill that Peggle void in their life.
Ryan Janes · Sep 22, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - I feel like Peglin is a fun roguelike game if either you miss Peggle or are okay with knowing how well you do might is completely up to RNG. It isn’t always demanding perfection in the same way as roguelikes like Hades or Dead Cells, where your skill is a big part of deciding how successful you are. It very much comes down to chance here. Which means if you’re okay with that and playing it in small doses, Peglin can be great! But since how much you can influence a run is limited, it can be very frustrating to often see yourself do everything right, but fail because you didn’t get the right orbs or relics and it ended up being unbalanced.
Jenni Lada · Sep 15, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - There’s nothing crazy about Peglin. The game is straightforward but still offers plenty of twists the further into your game session you manage to get. This is one of those no two rounds are the same games, a staple in roguelight titles I have come to enjoy. The better you become at playing Peglin the longer those sessions tend to become. I don’t daydream about Peglin, which is to say the worst thing I can think about Peglin; it’s there, it’s fun, but I don’t feel much of a sense of accomplishment once I move onto something else.
Elliot Hilderbrand · Sep 04, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Peglin is the blend of Peggle and Roguelike I never knew I needed, but the luck factor and repeating layouts let it down a little.
Lyle Pendle · Sep 04, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Visually, the pixel art style works well enough, and it helps on the Switch not being that complex a title so load times are minimal. Because your foes only respond after your attacks, there’s always time to stop and plan out shots around how each orb’s power works – once you wrap your head around that – and so it’s a pretty easy drop-in-drop out kind of game. Not everything needs to be a 100+ hour epic, you know?
Alex Kidman · Sep 04, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Peglin is a fantastic turn-based roguelike RPG inspired by the gameplay of Peggle and the progression of Slay the Spire – not too unlike Roundguard .
NimbleThor · Mar 27, 2024 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Having never played Peggle before, Peglin has been a ton of fun even with all the luck and RNG involved. It may not be for everyone, but even in its current state, I recommend trying Peglin on iOS. The free to start model means you can try it out for yourself and see how you like it. I was sold after a few runs, and have not grown tired of it even months after launch. I’ve even started playing it on Steam Deck as a break from other games like I do with Vampire Survivors there.
納谷英嗣 · May 02, 2023 Reviewed on iOS, AndRead full review - Este referido estilo, em combinação com o sempre iterativo e em progressiva evolução deckbuilder roguelike, traz-nos um resultado bastante elegante. A tal inspiração em Peggle, é impossível de esconder, e algumas das mecânicas únicas das esferas, as armas utilizadas para derrotar inimigos, são mecânicas diretamente tiradas do jogo que serve de sua maior inspiração.

Trailers & Screenshots:
The dragons have been popping peglins and stealing all of your gold for as long as you can remember. Enough is enough. It's time to venture through the woods, conquer the fortress, and delve into the heart of the dragon's lair to take back what's yours and teach those dragons a lesson.
The enemies are tough, and if you're defeated your run is over, but you've got powerful orbs with special effects and incredible relics that influence both your enemies and the physics you'll use to defeat them.
