  • The eclectic soundtrack to OlliOlli is matched by minimalist visuals, players whizzing by a grey cityscape, snowy military base, and neon-illuminated city districts, where you’ll grind on London buses, samurai swords and more.

  • OlliOlli is an addictive gem of a game. Beneath the simple aesthetic and controls lies a deceptively challenging and complex skateboarding game. It’s great for short sessions, but be warned that it’s also easy to accidentally sink a few hours into it while trying to achieve the perfect run.

  • As precisely made as it ever was on handheld, with both the perks and drawbacks of being blown up for the big screen, OlliOlli becomes one of the purest - and best - skill challenge games on Xbox One.

  • Aside from the minor disappointment of lacking added features, the core game has translated across intact; thankfully it's as good as it ever was. Obsessive high score perfectionists will love the one-more-try gameplay together with the 'twitch' skills needed to top the scoreboards. For everyone else, career mode contains more than enough content to get stuck into, just be aware it can get difficult fast. OlliOlli is an addictive, unique and fun game that's a worthy addition to anyone's library, whichever format you own.

Overall, I felt OlliOlli was quite addictive and fun to play, and while I’m not the type of person to try to always go for the high score, it had me pondering, “I could get a better score than this” and going back to a previously completed stage.

  • At any moment you could roll off to practice, explore or generally mess around. That's not the case here—you're always being pushed to improve or face failure. That means OlliOlli is best played in short sessions. It also means it's a game that offers a consistently meaningful reward. Not of unlocks and achievements, but of measurable improvement against a demanding, expressive and enjoyable set of systems.

  • OlliOlli might seem simple, but it’s really an adventure in learning how to time your moves and figuring out which tricks to pull. It really tests your skills while rewarding you for your hard work and dedication. This isn’t some mindless infinite runner; this is OlliOlli.

  • With a steep learning curve and massive difficulty spikes, OlliOlli takes a while to get its hooks into you. Once it does, you’ll quickly discover an addictive skateboarding game like no other.

  • Roll7 has certainly created something engaging, and I can easily see people completely losing themselves in OlliOlli. Personally, though, it fell more into endless runner territory for me. Definitely entertaining, but not something I can sacrifice hours of my life to.

  • Thankfully, lackluster leaderboards turn out to be one of OlliOlli's very few flaws. It's a wonderful arcade experience that not only demands both precision and speed, but has the tight controls necessary to make both possible. There's little reason that it couldn't work on systems besides the Vita, but OlliOlli is a great fit for the portable.
