- A dystopian detective noir focused on two flawed, likable people unraveling a curious mystery.
Jerry Williams · Aug 30, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - If there was to be one criticism of Nobody Wants to Die, it is that it is quite an ‘on rails’ experience at times and that might not be to the liking of all. For others though, it will feel near perfect, reminding of a time when great games were produced. The story of Nobody Wants to Die is an absolute highlight, full of great characters and an amazing world with superb practices and ideas. Further to that, the detective gameplay is fun and interesting, giving you a real feel that you are actually solving a complex crime and motive. In a few words, Nobody Wants to Die deserves a lot of praise. Play it.
Pedro Del Pozo · Aug 17, 2024 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Nobody Wants to Die feels like a triumph of noir-inspired gaming. Its meticulous attention to detail, from the visual aesthetics to the great narrative, makes it a standout title for fans of the genre. The game successfully merges the best elements of classic noir with modern gaming sensibilities, while the game has a bad habit of giving too much help to the player; Nobody Wants to Die is a game that should not be missed by fans of the genre.
Terrence Johnson · Aug 14, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I can’t quite say I’d recommend Nobody Wants to Die, not unless you’re heavy on film noir. Other than that, you most likely wouldn’t find it memorable. It’s gorgeous on the surface but deep down lacks intricate game mechanics to make it an interesting and worthwhile experience. If you love interactive movies, then you may want to give this one a shot but you should know what you’re getting yourself into.
Stefan Stuursma · Aug 06, 2024 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - A solid, if slightly formulaic, thriller, then Nobody Wants to Die manages to do little new and yet feel different to most other games on the market right now.
Mick Fraser · Aug 05, 2024 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Nobody Wants to Die is an excellent walking simulator that, all things considered, is checking out. After the release of Still Wakes The Deep, this is yet another narrative-heavy game that you should check out if you're a fan of detective stories, dystopian futures, or simply appreciate well-crafted storytelling. The cyberpunk aesthetics with classic noir create a world that's both familiar and utterly captivating. It's a bold statement from a new studio, and it makes me look forward to what projects Critical Hit Games has in store for us.
