- Unless someone is a diehard Ninja Gaiden fan, gamers might prefer to explore those other options or just download Ninja Gaiden Sigma, which is free for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Regardless, I enjoyed my time with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus for the Vita. Sure it has its flaws and, yes, it’s a port of a port but it was still an enjoyable experience. It made me feel badass, even on the easiest difficulty.
Shad Forsyth · Mar 13, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus isn't a bad action game by any means. In fact, at moments it can be wildly entertaining, but those moments come bundled with a terrible camera, uneven level design, and combat that tends to cheat you as often as it challenges you. Whether you loved Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 or not, this version's missing features and spotty performance are still impossible to ignore. Simply put, the original Sigma Plus is a better port of a better game, and far more worthy of your time and money.
Vince Ingenito · Mar 05, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - On top of the technical issues, there's barely anything new that's been added here to justify another purchase. It's a shame, because I really enjoyed the original Ninja Gaiden 2 and Sigma 2. Team Ninja really missed the opportunity to add a killer feature like the ability to replay Time Attack missions with extra characters or enhance Ninja Race, which would have justified a double/triple-dip.
Chris Carter · Mar 01, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2+ is an excellent game that makes the transition to the Vita quite well. As a package, it’s hurt a bit by its high price tag at launch, making it hard to recommend as an instant purchase given that the 360 original looks a little bit better, is more comfortable to control on a full controller and goes for about ten dollars now. That being said, if you adored that game and have done everything there is to do in the original Sigma +, you’ll get the full asking price out of this.
Jeremy Peeples · Mar 01, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Performance aside, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus is a razor-sharp sequel that delivers over-the-top cut scenes, special moves and pulverizing attacks. Final verdict: A quality on-the-go beat-em-up that should find its way into your Vita library. Ninja Gaiden 2 experience with bonus modes and touch controls, crazy amount of gore, dramatic boss fights and cut scenes.
Chris Buffa · Feb 28, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - You'll become bored of the combat animations around about the same time that you realise the best way to beat enemies is to block and then mash the same 'attack' button over and over. Then you'll notice how repetitive and linear the game is. Enemies run at you, you kill them all, you follow the designated (and only) pathway, and you repeat. It's very dull.
Mike Rose · Apr 09, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - It’s hard to recommend Sigma 2 Plus if you are looking to experience the game for the first time. The PS3 version is unquestionably superior in all ways. If you are already a fan and looking to play the game portably, this isn’t a terrible option. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus is a solid adaptation, but significant issues hold it back from being a truly great port.
