- NHL 25 is the most visually stunning release this franchise has ever seen, and on-ice gameplay is an absolute blast. Franchise Mode was given a massive upgrade while HUT and WOC saw some solid improvements, but another year of neglecting Be A Pro leaves career mode players out in the cold.
Patches Chance · Sep 27, 2024 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - In what has become a regular mantra for my closing sections, NHL 24 is a tale of highs and lows. On one hand, the title features the most engaging, authentic hockey sim gameplay yet, and those who choose to stick with the basic modes will likely be enthralled by the slick graphics, realistic player fatigue, and top-tier presentation. On the flipside, the in-game advertising and omnipresent cash grabs — in a title that seems a little too familiar to prior editions — may leave longtime fans wondering if they should ever expect more, no matter how much they’ve already invested in the series.
Brad Bortone · Dec 25, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The condition NHL 24 is in right now makes it feel like a beta test for a full release that is some months off. It’s extremely disappointing.
Alister Kennedy · Nov 05, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - EA Sports NHL 24 adds quite a lot this year around for an NHL game. The Exhaust Engine and Vision Passing are welcome and profound additions to the gameplay, even though the overall balance doesn't feel quite right yet. Beyond that, improvements are slim, especially if you're predominantly playing offline. Be a Pro and Franchise modes see a few adjustments to the micro-transaction-powered online modes.
Marco Ravetto · Oct 25, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - For the first time in years, NHL 24 feels like a brand-new hockey game made for a modern generation. The addition of some much-needed gameplay features makes for a great time, but relatively unchanged game modes make this more of a small leap than a big jump.
Anthony J Nash · Oct 21, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The new hitting and passing systems need work, but the changes in how momentum affects the moment-to-moment gameplay have injected new life into the series. At the end of the day, I find myself wanting to step back out onto the ice. And that’s more than I can say for how I’ve felt over the last several years.
Rhett Waselenchuk · Oct 21, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It’s hard to compare NHL 24 to 23, as 23 launched in a terrible state due to a slew of bugs in both the gameplay and various modes. While the game is improved as compared to last year, EA didn’t have that high of a bar to surpass.
Chris Studley · Oct 16, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - NHL 24’s new gameplay features reinvigorate the on-ice action, but its collection of unimproved game modes has grown increasingly boring with each passing year.
Nick Ransbottom · Oct 12, 2023 Reviewed on PS5, Series X|S, PS4, XB1Read full review - Whether you’re into a customized, ultra-violent arcade experience or a more realistic simulation, NHL 24 has you covered. I really enjoyed its sheer amount of content, intuitive controls, overall presentation, and its Be a Pro mode. Yes, its Ultimate Team mode, just like similar modes in other EA Sports titles, is an insane gambling machine meant to suck your wallet dry, but considering the wealth of other modes included in this package, you can easily ignore it and have a lot of fun with NHL 24.

Trailers & Screenshots:
EA SPORTS™ NHL® 24’s all-new gameplay features bring authentic on-ice action to life. Experience the rush and fatigue of a high-pressure game with the Exhaust Engine, where sustained pressure in the attack zone leads to new game-changing effects like goalie fatigue that slows the netminder’s reaction time the more they get worn down with offensive action; change the momentum with Physics-Based Contact as you break the glass and send players into the bench with big body checks; and get unparalleled player command with the new Vision Passing System and Total Control Skill Moves. Chel is more connected than ever with cross-play in all online team play modes, along with HUT Moments, which lets you recreate classic moments in hockey history and today’s biggest plays. Adding an extra layer of authenticity, Flex Moments introduces 75 new goal celebrations, and a wholly refreshed presentation complements an enriched crowd atmosphere that makes playing the game feel like you’re at the game.
