- There’s really no reason to not try Nexomon: Extinction out, especially for RPG and Pokémon fans. It’s packed with really enjoyable content and if players like the game, they can purchase the full version since it’s worth the money.
Madhavan Kannan · Nov 08, 2021 Reviewed on iOS, AndRead full review - Nexomon: Extinction is a solid Pokémon-like monster catcher RPG with a large 2D open-word to explore, a humorous story and characters, great monster designs, and at least 30 hours of gameplay.
NimbleThor · Oct 22, 2021 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Nexomon: Extinction is amazing and I have been playing it non-stop. As a big Pokemon fan I was a bit sceptical about trying something different, but oh my God I am so glad I did. It was glorious, so much fun and I can’t wait to dive back into it. For anyone who has been recently let down by Pokemon Shield/Sword like I was, I can’t recommend this enough.
Ian Wray · Sep 30, 2020 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Perhaps Nexomon: Extinction will always live in the shadows of the Pokémon series, but it has enough of its own personality to stand on its own two feet. Its world is beautiful, its story is humorous and captivating, and its budget price makes it an absolute steal. When you’re done with the Kanto and Galar regions and everything in between, you might find the world of Nexomon surprisingly charming.
Kim Snaith · Sep 30, 2020 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Nexomon: Extinction is clearly inspired by Pokémon from top to bottom. While they change up a few mechanics and make some definite improvements here and there, not enough is done to consider this among the elite of the monster-catching RPGs. An interesting title to spend some time in for the right price, Nexomon: Extinction will be something the Pokémon hardcore will want to check out, while everyone else might just want to find a Game Boy and their copy of Blue version.
Steven Green · Sep 07, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Nexomon: Extinction has plenty to offer for just $19.99, even if a chunk of it is grinding. But for whatever reason, it's not willing to forge a new path and let go of its inspirations completely. It doesn't make Nexomon: Extinction a bad game — by any means. It's just not as good as it could be.
Joshua Broadwell · Sep 03, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - In a game that's all about grinding with your favourite monsters, the balance feels totally out of whack at times. But with a sensible update or two, Nexomon: Extinction could evolve into a much more enticing experience. It's never going to have the charm of Pokémon, but it could yet be a decent alternative.
Robert Ramsey · Sep 01, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - In general, Nexomon Extinction is a novel Pokemon-like. Its story is quite enjoyable and packed with personality, humor, and even some twists about the state of the world. There are lots of cool monsters who are really appealing, with movesets you could really work with and build parties around.
Jenni Lada · Aug 31, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Nexomon: Extinction introduces plenty of its own ideas to the monster-collection RPG genre, but it doesn’t quite nail the execution. If you can get past a lot of grinding, some gruelling fights and a cynical story, then there’s an interesting Pokémon-like here, even if the fun can be a little hard to find.
Matt Lorrigan · Aug 31, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Nexomon: Extinction does enough to make it somewhat distinct, but the unique elements can also be its undoing. It mostly succeeds in being a more deliberate and challenging take on Pokémon, but that difficulty can oftentimes come across as exhausting and artificial.
