- MX vs. ATV: Supercross is a valiant effort at resurrecting a franchise that was thought to have been doomed, but rather than feeling like it was brought back to life, the series just feels as if it was simply unearthed. Here’s to hoping future iterations have more to offer than a few laps around a dirt track.
John Llewellyn Martin · Nov 04, 2014 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Sporting loads of depth at some levels, yet lacking greatly at others, MX vs ATV Alive will likely have a narrow appeal. The price point makes it attractive for newbies, yet those same people will be exasperated at the difficulty level
Rich Grisham · Jun 01, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - THQ’s built-it-yourself DLC idea is an interesting one, but in its current state MX vs. ATV Alive is unfinished and, while fun at times, will be a disappointment to series fans expecting a proper sequel to Reflex
Mike Jackson · May 27, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - Custom soundtracks are always welcome, and if THQ’s upcoming DLC is priced right, you could ultimately end up with a customized version of this game that fits your play style. MX vs. ATV Alive takes what was new about Reflex and tweaks it subtly, though the lack of a traditional career mode ends up hurting the game more than helping it.
Paulmichael Contreras · May 21, 2011 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Its fresh gameplay tweaks generally outshine its shortcomings, and plenty of throttle-twisting thrills await those willing to master the controls and progress their character. Just be prepared to re-up your entry fee once you reach the finish line
Game Trailers · May 16, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - MX vs. ATV Alive is a better racing game than its predecessor, but sadly, it's not nearly as good a value proposition. Even after you spend several hours unlocking all that it has to offer, this is a game that's sorely in need of more content. It's coming, but rather than adding to an already fully featured game, here, it's hard not to feel like DLC will merely bring it closer to being the game it should've been from day one.
Justin Calvert · May 16, 2011 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - Overall I am quite satisfied that MX vs. ATV Alive is yet another great entry into the series, but with a new twist. This stripped down game that offers less features for less money makes sense in a strange way, given that those who wanna play with more features can add them for a price. Those who just want to enjoy what is offered can also have fun too, without paying the regular price of a full game.
Kirby Yablonski · May 15, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - I feel like the MX vs. ATV series has lost its way with Alive. It’s not bad; in fact, it introduces some positive new features for the franchise – but it’s relatively directionless. The series’ one-of-a-kind racing remains, but the game as a whole has a void because parts of it have been removed.
Matthew Kato · May 10, 2011 Reviewed on PS3, X360 - t's as if THQ took its fan base for granted, figuring that anyone who picked up this game is going to be a hardcore dirt-racing fan and wouldn't think twice about dropping a hefty chunk of change on DLC offerings or grinding the same tracks over and over
Angelo M. D'Argenio · May 10, 2011 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - Alive is still one of the best off road MX racers out there, and is very playable and lots of fun. My frustration level was significantly lower than with many racing games, and while the game isn't all that engaging when it comes to variety of content, it is still worth a look, especially if you're new to the franchise.
