  • Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is a bloody fun time that provides an extensive amount of quality reasons to keep coming back. The massive roster of fighters, the brilliantly brutal fatalities, and the wonderful tutorial system gives newcomers a chance to learn how to play. The campaign is hard to follow if you're new but once you understand the lore you'll see this series has more to offer than just blood-soaked attacks. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is everything you could ever hope for from a fighting game and more.

  • Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate can best be described as the cherry on top of your sundae. While it’s a great addition and might attract people to the game, it feels ultimately a bit unnecessary, especially for people who already own the title and some of its DLC. It’s hard to complain about a game packed with fun and blood, but if you already own it there is little need to get the Ultimate edition if you don’t plan on getting a next-gen console anytime soon.

  • For the price of the base game just over a year and a half ago you get the full package, which includes two great story campaigns, 37 customisable fighters and a whole lot more. Its combat might not be as fluid or enjoyable in action as the latest Street Fighter or Tekken, but it makes up for it elsewhere. As fighting games go, none are more generous than Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, especially when it comes to single-player content. None are gorier, either.

  •   All in all, Mortal Kombat 11 is a great package, and nicely fleshed out with a ton of content and modes for both the casual fighting game players like myself and the hardcore community who want to get stuck into the online battling. The heavy involvement of microtransactions can be an annoyance, for sure, but there's more than enough to get busy with to help beat the grind.

  • The sound and graphics of the game are first-rate and it is amazing to see how much the game has evolved from the original title. The movement and variety of options for players is amazing and Mortal Kombat 11 once again shows why they are the top fighting game franchise on the market.

  • Mortal Kombat 11 pushes the brutal fighting action up to new levels, but fighting can quickly turn into a chore once the initial dust settles.

  • Mortal Kombat 11 offers a fantastic middle ground of depth and accessibility, providing tactical excitement in a beautifully presented, densely packed, and easily digestible package. NetherRealm's latest title is a resounding success.

  • MK11 isn't just a sequel for series fans and NetherRealm devotees, it's a gateway into the realm of fighting games for anyone who has a passing interest in watching ruthless warriors beat each other silly. Streamlined mechanics keep the act of fighting furiously exciting no matter what your skill level, and comprehensive tutorials encourage you to dig into the nitty-gritty. There's a diverse roster of interesting characters and playstyles, and the story mode is an entertaining romp.

  • Mortal Kombat 11 may catch some deserved flak for its microtransactions and Ronda Rousey’s bland voice acting, but the core fighting is so entertaining than those issues will hardly to matter to most. Mortal Kombat 11 is simply full of things to do and will keep fighting game enthusiasts busy for quite some time. Future updates will hopefully continue to make progression more rewarding, but we’ve already seen enough of an improvement to wholeheartedly recommend Mortal Kombat 11 to both fans of the franchise and fighting game fans in general.

  • Mortal Kombat 11 is an incredible fighting game, and Shiver Entertainment’s work in porting the game to Switch is beyond impressive. I wish that I could’ve enjoyed playing it so much more, but the arduous grind for cosmetics permeates so strongly through the backbone of this game that picking it up to play at all can be frustrating. NetherRealm has promised a patch to make the grind easier, but all it seems to do is increase the rate you gain currency without removing the always-online restrictions.
