- But that's then, and this is now - and what's here right now is certainly worth your time. MLB 07: The Show plays a fantastically realistic and remarkably fun game on the field - in fact, it's perhaps the best on-field baseball game ever created, and certainly the best one this year.

There's a seemingly endless number of ways to enjoy the game, and the road to the show is a fantastic addition to the series. Be it a wealth of online options or the deep franchise mode, there's something for every type of baseball fan here.

The game looks great, sounds good and plays well. The components are all in place to make a pennant run for the top baseball title in ’07.

And though 2K7 keeps the casual fans happy with eye-popping visuals, The Show keeps the die-hards in their seats with just the opposite.

Funky infielder logic, lackluster visuals and other odd changes to the gameplay formula literally turns a great baseball title on older systems into a good title on the PS3.

MLB 07: The Show makes the transition to next-gen with a suite of advanced features in its race to become MVP of 2007's baseball crop. The all-new Road to The Show mode enables gamers to play both offense and defense from the created player's perspective. Providing an even more realistic experience from the mound, the all-new New Pitch Command System (PCS) delivers comprehensive strategy to pitch selection, as a pitcher's "pitch comfort" will be predetermined based on a best to worst pitch scenario. It is up the gamer to decide if he/she should try to "work on a pitch" or just go with what is working.
