  • Metro: Last Light Redux returns with sharper visuals, greater immersion and welcome upgrades to its bleak FPS adventure.

  • Just like with Metro 2033, this game features all of the DLC including a ‘Ranger Mode’ that offers a HUD-less, UI-less experience with more powerful enemies and even fewer resources. If you can’t get enough of the Metro experience, you’ll want to give the Ranger Mode a try.

  • Metro: Last Light Redux offers more guns, more locations, and a few new interesting characters. While it is a bit lighter on the paranormal elements, it still does a fantastic job telling a story of competing political factions vying for control of the Metro. Although it makes some stumbles that its predecessor avoided, Metro: Last Light Redux is nonetheless an exciting romp through previously unexplored parts of the Metro universe.

  • It's a fine shooter, but fans of the original's survival horror feel were disappointed by the sequel's focus on bombastic combat and boss fights over survival and atmosphere. ...It makes sense for Metro Last Light Redux to exist on consoles, with locked 60fps framerate and higher resolution being the main selling points. Obviously this doesn’t really impact PC owners. If you've not played Last Light before then Redux is worth picking up.

  • Metro: Last Light is an awesome game and the game hasn’t stopped being awesome. If you haven’t played it before, then this is easily the most definitive version. However, if you HAVE played Last Light before, getting Last Light Redux is a bit more of a complicated question. As far as remakes go, it doesn’t offer a whole lot of new content or options. Not to mention it’s being packaged alongside 2033 Redux which, as I said before, is one of the best remakes of the year.

  • Metro Last Light is a great game, and if you've never played it before this Redux version is probably the way to do so. It packs in all the additional content 4A has released, along with some welcome new features and game modes, all for a cheaper price than the current retail version. If you already own the game, however, this is far from the radical visual and gameplay revision that Metro 2033 has received.

About the game

It is the year 2034. Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above. But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…
