- Exodus takes Artyom and Anna’s satirically under-developed “relationship” from Last Light and transforms it into not just something meaningful, but the most compelling facet of the entire game. Their relationship serves as the driving force for much of the title, and feels authentic in a way that exceedingly few games can pull off. The cast surrounding these two are no slouches either, providing a motley assortment of soldiers, mechanics, and refugees that live and grow alongside one another, across the title’s year-long journey.
Graham Banas · Aug 09, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Both add new narrative beats to the game. But where Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition really lets itself down is the execution of the world it is based in. Sure, crafting an arsenal to butcher hundreds of faceless bandits is fun. But Metro Exodus’ complex post-apocalyptic world has such a deep lore, begging to explored properly. It deserves better than this.
Jon Davis · Jul 06, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Overall, Metro Exodus' enhancements on PS5 really go a long way. It ends up being more than just your average port, and borders on full, detailed remaster at times. It's truly astounding just how good it looks and performs on new hardware, and might now be the best possible way - or at least highly recommended from me - to experience Metro if this is your first dance with the series.
Sam Aberdeen · Jun 29, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The implementation of ray tracing is excellent, and the boost to dynamic 4K and a rock-solid 60 FPS makes for a game that is even better looking and better playing than the already excellent base release. Some issues not withstanding, Metro Exodus on new consoles is a visual and technical feast.
Shubhankar Parijat · Jun 28, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Despite looking pretty impressive the first time round, the visual upgrades alone to Metro Exodus make it a worth entry in the PS5’s catalogue. It might help to play the others first, but when this is the conclusion, it looks and plays too good not to. Just work on those trigger-pulling muscles for the haptic feedback.
Greg Hicks · Jul 08, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Overall, it is an utter treat to revisit Metro Exodus with the new enhanced version on Xbox Series X|S. I do recommend that if you are new to the Metro Series then play the first two games – Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light – before picking up Exodus, however if you’ve played those and never managed to get around to Exodus, this is the perfect time to visit it.
Ryan Taylor · Jun 27, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Metro Exodus on PS5 is the ultimate version to play. The visuals are better than ever, and the DualSense implementation is remarkable. Both DLCs are included, so even if you played the original but never got a chance to continue the story, they’re included. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I strongly suggest playing it now. As long as you’re not put off by the threat of being attacked by freaky-looking mutants, you’ll be fine.
Chris White · Jun 22, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Metro Exodus on PS5 is one of the best survival wastelands to explore on the new console. With enhanced textures, stunning ray-tracing and global illumination, and immersive DualSense implementation, what is on offer here is an experience like no other.
Joe Apsey · Jun 21, 2021 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Metro Exodus shows some heart, and it's clear the developers have poured a lot into this third chapter of Artyom's story. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that keep the game from hitting the standard set by its predecessors. Pacing is hamstrung by the ambitious misfire of an 'open-world', while performance issues and glitches mar much of Exodus.
