Whilst there are glimpses of creativity and nods to past fan-favourites, the solo campaign feels over far too soon. There’s potential for Fever to have been a lengthy five setter, but the game doesn't quite reach those levels, unfortunately. DLC, if a future option, could well help. As a multiplayer romp, though, Mario Tennis Fever serves a good time overall for some hearty tennis action!

Smashing shots and powering through to victory in Mario Tennis Fever is as satisfying as every time I mercilessly secured a point in real-life tennis. Likewise, the ingenious new racket mechanics enable more inventive and inspired play than my physical body could ever do. Whether it's online gauntlets or solo challenges, Mario Tennis Fever gives me enough excuses to play for hours upon hours. It's an Editors' Choice winner and 2026's first must-play Nintendo Switch 2 game.
